chrisg Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Don't blame him for wanting to leave. If I was him I'd want to leave too. He's done a great job for the Rovers and I'd wish him well wherever he ends up.

Sparky Marky Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Spurs with players in exchange would be better for us..not strengthening our relegation opponents .....Pienar and bassong...maybe Krancjer too.....
joey_big_nose Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Spurs with players in exchange would be better for us..not strengthening our relegation opponents .....Pienar and bassong...maybe Krancjer too..... Kamy has been pretty emphatic that Venky's want cash and we can't afford the wages anyhow....
Hughesy Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Kamy has been pretty emphatic that Venky's want cash and we can't afford the wages anyhow.... Sambas wage is probably more than Kranjcar and Bassong would command combined
savage90 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Totally understand and agree with Samba although it is worrying times.
joey_big_nose Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Sambas wage is probably more than Kranjcar and Bassong would command combined Maybe true (not sure as both Krankjaer and Bassong came from established high wage prem clubs they would be on 30k+ each at least imo) but Kamy has said that Spurs have offered those players specifically and they were rejected due to Venkys wanting only cash.
Guest Rovers4Good Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 lol @ people thinking the money would be reinvested. Totally agree LOL We'll sell Samba, Hoilett and maybe more and bring in some 3rd rate players at the very last minute to try and cover up the fact that the big names have gone.
j166429 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 For what it's worth, here is my translation of the interview (http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2012/20120111_233541_samba-temps-de-changer.html) on the "l'equipe" website Often mentioned as a potential transfer target, Chris Samba hopes this January’s transfer window will be “the one”. The central defender has informed the owners of the club of his desire to leave Blackburn in order to sign for a more ambitious club. “In recent times, it has been difficult mentally”, he explained to us. “I have tried to perform at a constant level, but I feel it’s time for a change. The club isn’t going anywhere.” The Congolese international explained that the situation has been made worse, “ [i have] always put the clubs interest before mine. I have invested my energy, I have always tried to lead by example, but things have not happened as I was told. I hope everybody will understand.” Samba criticises Venky’s , the Indian owners of the club since November 2010, for not having kept their promise in attracting big name signings in order to take Blackburn to the next level. Perhaps somebody who is attending the 24h protest can give it to kean/somebody at the club (He did say he would get the interview translated) I can't unfortunately as I'm about 500 miles away)
promoted2001 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I don't blame him for wanting to leave although the captain usually goes down with the ship
Pitty Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Heard from a good source Chris Samba phoned in sick today and a doubt for tomorrows game, looks like he def wants out. It will be headline news tomorrow in LET. This is not a rumour, its a fact.

roversfan99 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 We can't afford to do that. Anyway he's apparently been in training today?

Hughesy Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 We can't afford to do that. Anyway he's apparently been in training today? Why cant we? He has another 4 1/2 years on his contract. Do it!
roversfan99 Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Because we would be cutting our nose off to spite our face. If he wants out enough he will manage it. We can't afford to pay him and not pay him with the opportunity cost of a massive fee.
adsfortheblues Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 It will be Headline news tomorrow, if not i will show my arse in burtons window. There isn't a burtons in blackburn
Athlete Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Good news indeed, Venky's I dont think enjoyed the bend over treatment from united. Plus Samba may want to stay if we start splashing the cash soon. Arsenal certainly dont look as if the are dying to get a deal done. Venkys splash the cash have you been on the beer ?
Parsonblue Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Why cant we? He has another 4 1/2 years on his contract. Do it! All that will do is futher damage the morale of the rest of the squad. The performance at Newcastle suggested that many of the players are now simply going through the motions. When players see how the likes of Salgado and Roberts have been treated is it any wonder that their is unrest in the camp? Personally, I wouldn't blame any player for kicking up and trying to force his way out of the madhouse that Venky Rovers has become.

Pitty Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Dont know the full story but headline says he phoned in sick after that french interview and he def wants out. It will def be the big story tomorrow.
John Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Martin Blackburn (@SunMartinB) There was a notable absentee from the #brfc squad who trained at brockhall today. Very notable in the circs...#rovers Fri Jan 13 22:05:21 2012
beastlove Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 When did he phone in sick ? I heard the same rumour today. Samba phoned in sick saying that he had been playing star wars with Olson and got his head stuck in a biscuit tin. I don't know why he went for the biscuit tin as it looks nothing like vaders helmet. I am sure if he really wanted to Samba could play.
DavidMailsTightPerm Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Dont know the full story but headline says he phoned in sick after that french interview and he def wants out. It will def be the big story tomorrow. IF true - it shows how good Rovers have become at covering up stories. Surely this would have hit the t'internet by now - does Kean not have press conference at Brockhall on Fridays ? Surely Samba is big enough for a journalist to notice his absence prior to now ?
