Sorry, meant no offense. Was supposed to be a joke. I'm sure you're right about the news.

Not unless you count bidding 9 million pounds for Honda, 8 or 9 million for Scott Dann and 5 million for Park Chu Young.

All of which might not even be true.

And there lies the problem with the MB at the moment -

£50m to spend on top quality, £50m but includes wages, Jones money + £5m, Jones money + £5m incl wages and fees, pay off mortgage, sell best players to pay off debts, and now back to spending over £20m on three top quality players. You really couldn't make up this transfer window - or the hysteria that has followed it.

Bring back the Walker Trust, at least with them we knew we were skint, and we knew where we were!

Every time you log on to this board there's conflicting stories about everything!

Ok, in an attempt to make the transfer thread work, we've created more of a chat page to chat about transfers

We'll move off topic stuff from transfer thread into here where possible to stop the "deleted posts" issue, so please dont put transfer rumours links in this thread. Other than that assuming the posting guidelines are followed, we will try to keep this as loose as possible.

Well it was pretty much like that when we were owned by the trust and had several "billionaire" suitors. The fantasy football hysteria being played out then was staggering, including many people who are now so vehemently anti-Venky's they probably convinced even themselves they didn't want the takeover. It's like goldfish going round a bowl

Good point Chocky, also, if the player likes us and no one else puts a stupid bid in then he can force a move to us if we still want the guy (And IF we have some money) or we could always loan him again.

On JJ, time is on our side and the shoe is on the other foot so to speak (For a change)

To go down that route, we need people who can negotiate and who understand football - ala Sparky with Savage!!

I'm sure I read that Citeh were interested in Honda as well. The lure of ridiculous wages, CL football and team mates that are all superstars will surely be a no brainer for the poor little chap.

Plus a lot of money to us is a pocket change to them, they'll just outbid us for s**ts and giggles.

The allure of riding the bench however will deter him. He's in his prime years right now, he wants to be playing week-in week-out. That doesn't happen for many guys at city.

According to reports Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has been left reeling after the expected signing of Mariano Pavone was vetoed by the club’s owners.

The Mirror claims Kean was ready to hail a new recruit to Ewood Park when Venky’s pulled the plug on the deal.

Venky's have financial restrictions placed on them by the club’s bank and have had to quash the deal.

Pavone had gone through a medical and was ready to fly off with the squad for their pre-season tour of India and is said to be ‘stunned’ by developments

Rovers need at least FIVE quality players this summer just to get to last seasons standard and thats excluding Benjani resigning which would take it to six quality players required.

Anything less than this should be considered as gross negligence, mis management on behalf of Venky's.

Would work for me - imagine Hoilett / Honda / Formica (or Rochina) as the three support attackers. If we can just get JJ to sign on to pair with Nzonzi - wow. And at this point he woke up :-)

Get back to sleep quick... I am liking your deam.:D

6 players to get to last seasons standard!??!?!

I admit that JJ and PJ need to be replaced by great players but what other players are we missing?

EH Diouf, MB Diouf, RSC won't be missed...

I'd say the post afterwards when he said about an old Rolls Royce instead of a Honda may mean a has been is on the radar.

Edit: There it is - Raul. Still got some talent but what is he now 33-34?

Getting on a bit granted, but definitely still a Rolls Royce!!

There is so much going on right now that it is hard to keep up.

A remarkable [new] target that might come off.

A major summit.

More Kalinic drama [which has actually moved on since I wrote it two hours ago].

Some Diouf stuff that isn't even going to make the paper.

And, by the way, the bank problem is 100 per cent right - confirmed to me by someone who would know tonight.

Nicko What about Keans interview, which he claims we have sizeable bids in for 2 players ?.

Fact or Fiction.Cheers Nicko.
