My view on the situation is that

a) Hughes isnt coming back, the John Williams relationship ruins that hope

b ) Kean and Venkys have switched targets and dont want John

c) Ibisevic is taking too long to get his visa so we are trying for someone else, probably El Hamdouai

I have heard Craig Bellamy and Onhuaha from twitter as the conspiracy is these are now Mark Hughes signings and Steve Kean is on gardening leave. I wish twitter was real life!

Until Wednesday I hold hope that Venkys have been offered a much better striker for a good price and we make it happen.....that + Onouha & Jermaine Jones.

as long as Mark Hughes is out of work and we keep on getting bad results with Kean in Charge these kind of rumours and stories will continue to appear i will take it with a pinch of salt

Hughes?! I really doubt that, however much I wish it was true. I also doubt the stories about Ibesevic and John being binned for bigger and better players. How many times have we heard that sort of rubbish before.

We may get 1 or 2 players of average ability at best.

I heard today that the ibe deal wasnt dead, whats changed? can anybody enlighten me? theres a post on skysports saying its not dead.

Not unhappy about either of those 2 transfers falling through to be honest. Ibesovic is injured and John would be a huge gamble, expecially if Samba or Givet is leaving. Would settle for no transfers and a new manager as Kean is part of the problem at our club and him continuing is far more damaging than anything else that could happen before Wednesday. Hughes? yes please but I can't imagine it will happen.

Ibsevic and his club don't want it to be dead. Rovers don't seem particularly interested. Mrs D has refused to authorise Doctors to fly out to his country to do the medical. Not entirely sure why, but rumour is she got cold feet over spending so much on a player who wouldn't be fit for a while.

Would Hughes even want to come back? I doubt it.

Don't think he would want to work for this lot. Could you see him hopping on a plane every fortnight to India? (for example)

I'm not sure there is a striker. My best guess is we're running around in a panic looking at various possible options.

Nixon reckons we're checking the availability of a big name aging striker at a top club that would apparently be available without a fee. But its not far enough along that he's considering doing an article on it. Probably another dead end.

I thought quite a few loans nowadays involve fees albeit a few hundred thousand. I can't see it being Berbatov. Much more interest from other clubs if he was available and they'd already be announcing "we want Berbatov" much like Raul, Adebayor, Ronaldinho etc
