BPF Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I check this forum every day to see if he has gone and every day I am disappointed to find out he is still in a job. Maybe we should have a sweep stake - person nearest to his leaving date wins. I'll take 2018

roversfan1 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Fair enough, I just didn't think they would be flying down. Still at least Dunny was in the queue at Costa and not McDonalds!!
Glosrover Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 That's pretty pathetic and is yet another realistic stat (not the drivel Kean spouts) which indicates we are in a major jam. And someone call animal control. Robbo has to be kicking his cat on a weekly basis. From today's daily express, maybe the tabloids finally get it, why don't the Indians..... Here are the numbers. With six wins in 34 games, Kean’s win ratio is 17.65 per cent. Discounting caretaker shifts, 130 people have managed in the Premier League. Only 14 have worse statistics. The majority were quickly sacked but three were given longer even than Kean. John Gorman (5 wins in 42), Micky Adams (7 in 42) and Aidy Boothroyd (5 in 38) repaid that faith by taking Swindon, Leicester and Watford down. Neither they, nor their clubs, have been seen in the top flight since. “Plenty of teams who have been in a more difficult position have put runs together,” said Kean, above. There have only ever been six teams “in a more difficult position” 13 games into a 38-match season. One – Southampton in 1998-99 – not “plenty”, survived. Another figure: £25m is the annual cost of relegation if Venky’s have got it wrong – a high price for loyalty. That bottom line has been blurred by impressive performances despite results. Plenty of teams who have been in a more difficult position have put runs together Steve Kean On Saturday, there was another damning statistic: Stoke enjoyed 56 per cent of the possession, their highest ever in the Premier League. Blackburn’s abject passing and failure to close Stoke down was mainly to blame. So is this still a side playing for their manager? Without the results, it was all Kean had going for him.
gumboots Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Fair enough, I just didn't think they would be flying down. Still at least Dunny was in the queue at Costa and not McDonalds!! Well Kean can't drive can he?
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 But DMTP, you may have a point with some of the U-turns made from some posters on here, exhibit A, the Liverpool thread from January: http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php/topic/23967-blackburn-rovers-v-liverpool/page__st__440 Fantastic result. If we can sign a couple of central midfielders (one defensive and one offensive) and a striker we should be ok. With Olsson and Hoilett on the wings and some quality in the central midfield a top half finish should be attainable. Some of that is still true now imo, but you can add a manager to that list as well as some strikers and full-backs. Looking back at that thread it's pretty clear that the majority of fans were behind Kean and were willing to give him a chance - something the Kean sympathisers/backers said didn't happen. It was probably the only performance by Rovers under Kean that I was happy with, Liverpool were in some pretty poor form but the attacking play by Rovers was very good in that game. I was really happy with the result and I was feeling pretty optimistic for the future, with hindsight that was clearly wrong. The time when I first started calling for his head was after the final game of the season (Wolves). IIRC I said he should have been sacked in the dressing room right after the game. The danger signs were obvious, he had taken us from a mid table side to almost being relegated on the final day. And yet here we still are, in a right mess.
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Another fruitless idea (more than likely), but how about we all send the club a letter FAO of Steve Kean and ask for a meeting with him, stating that you are a disgruntled fan and as he wants to meet any unhappy fans then you want to take him up on his offer. Now here's the kicker, we "cc" a copy to as many jounros as we can (mainly those covering the latest story) and tell the club that we have done this in our correspondence. We give it a week or so and if we get no reply we let said journalists know about it. Like I've said it maybe all in vein, but at worst it'll give the media more mud to sling at the Rovers hierarchy. Thoughts?

Backroom DE. Posted November 28, 2011 Backroom Posted November 28, 2011 I remember that Liverpool game so vividly... I watched it at my parents, went mental after every goal went in, felt so positive about the way we'd played and the potential future if we could keep it up...
brian_gallagher85 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 What have we really got to lose by meeting them? On the subject of contacts I'm sure Kamy would have a few email addresses, etc he could provide and I know a good few of them have twitter accounts that they use a lot. Anything is worth a go right now.

booth Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I'd like Abbey to meet Kean, and for it to be televised.
gumboots Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Kick his head in why I saw it as a problem was that whilst you may say it in jest I think there are a few who might well be so annoyed and get so emotional it might turn nasty and we all know that kean would come up smelling of roses and the fan who turned on him would cop the blame.
OhmiBRFC Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Apparently there's a 'Kean Out' banner at Charlton vs Huddersfield.
Jock Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 He wont meet anyone, lets not forget folks he tells lies, he is afterall 'Bullshit Man'
47er Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Its a strange article - I agree with some of it though to be honest. I don`t particualry like Steve Kean as I`m not fond of the lies and false positivety. As a manager he needs to be removed as soon as possible, but what I don`t like or feel a little uncomfortable with, is the real personal stuff that gets aimed at him, as he is just an individual like you an dI tryign to make a living. I`m not in any shape or form defending him in term sof the role he is doing for Rovers, he needs to go, but some of it is very very personal. That said, the article is very poor taste I agree, especially relating Steve Kean to the tragic loss of Gary Speed - they don`t go hand and hand together and to use Gary`s death as a way of emphasing Steve Keans sitation is just plain wrong - shame on the writer. I agree with you to an extent. However most managers are reasonably decent blokes who get sacked because results went against them and you can feel sorry for them. This bloke is different though. He is a poisonous piece of work without any of the norms we expect.
sharpysharps Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 The Kean Out thing is becoming a bit of a craze. There was that swiss banner at the tennis last week and if there's banners going round at other grounds it is becoming pretty funny.

Its a great idea, one will be seen at Oldham V Sheff Weds in a few weeks time also
Grez Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Does anyone have andy bays email address? If KEAN is serious - let's have a radio forum like last week with KEAN answering 40 rovers fans questions. Obviously invite the written press to cover the proceedings
Dan Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 It could be an idea to get other clubs involved? I'm sure not everyone hates us. This could have happened to many clubs other than ours. Still, there could be 40,000 banners at Old Trafford and Venky's and Kean would just ignore it.
davulsukur Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Apparently there's a 'Kean Out' banner at Charlton vs Huddersfield. Really? That's quality.
BigAlan Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 What would be the point In meeting Kean? It would be the same amount of bunkem the guy usually spouts. Asking him questions would be pointless. He has proven he is crap, his time passed last season. No more questions, no meeting the fans just get him out
47er Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 - but I suppose I will just have to bow down to your greater football judgement. Got it in one!
EwoodDawn Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Its a great idea, one will be seen at Oldham V Sheff Weds in a few weeks time also I think this is great, too. Let's get onto mates supporting other clubs round the country and get the craze going - especially at televised games!
Emge Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Would be absolutely hilarious if "Kean out" became a trend in terms of banners all over England. My god how fantastic that would have been. I bet alot of people on here has friends in pretty much every club all over - why dont you give them a Kean out-banner and tell them to bring them to their games?
