john.leigh Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Yep - now it's out. Scott Sutter - Swiss English fullback - that's the word from Nicko
Kamy100 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Nicko said its Scott Sutter Sutter Don't know much about the player but probably not what we need, i'd prefer to keep Lowe at right back as he has done very well. Plus we have Bruno
LeChuck Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 SSN reporting that Fulham have said they will not sell either Zamora or Johnson this window. Back to square one (if we ever left it) Surely Modeste means we've covered that one? Scott Sutter? Brilliant, that'll keep us up. Keep Lowe at right back whilst he's performing well ffs.
roverandout Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 just another average signing that wont improve our first 11, i havent seen him play but i would rather have one of young lads given a chance in the position, is it a loan or permanent?

Amo Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Surely Modeste means we've covered that one? Scott Sutter? Brilliant, that'll keep us up. Keep Lowe at right back whilst he's performing well ffs. It's funny you always say Olsson should be playing his natural position, but not the same for Lowe.
rovers11 Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 He's a good player. Still think a box to box midfielder and a striker are more pressing areas, though. Take Yak out of the side and we haven't got much up top.
LeChuck Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 It's funny you always say Olsson should be playing his natural position, but not the same for Lowe. I'm not against playing players out of their natural position, I usually say that about Olsson because there seems to be this evolved myth that Olsson is a midfielder playing out-of-position at full back, whereas actually he was always a defender until Allardyce started playing him in midfield.
OJRovers Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Sutter is apparently the next...er Stephan Henchoz
The Rover of Finland Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Roberts having medical at Wigan? At Reading I think.
hesfromburn Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 We need depth in the squad sutter brings that hopefully as the 1st choice right back (if he is good enough) and I dont think it is end of the world lechuck if we get to see what lowe can offer in midfield with his experience at right back maybe he can do the jermain jones role??? but hopefully we will also bring in another midfielder and start to have a more full looking team again.
Neal Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Scott Sutter thread has been made with some more info on the situation.
Torgeir Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Don't know much about the player but probably not what we need, i'd prefer to keep Lowe at right back as he has done very well. Plus we have Bruno Lowe is reasonably solid but can't cross, so he offers little or nothing going forward.
sharpysharps Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I like Lowe and right back but he is a centre midfielder at heart, doesn't he captain England under 20's as a midfielder? If it frees lowe up to play CM more and he can get up to pace with that position then he could be quality there, a real battler.
BiggusLaddus Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 At Reading I think. Sorry, yes meant Reading and typed Wigan for some bizarre reason. Good news either way.
67splitscreen Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 From JR's tweets sounds as if it's done a dusted.
Mercer Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Heard from a Geordie friend that Alan Smith is a loan possibility for Rovers.
AJW Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Heard from a Geordie friend that Alan Smith is a loan possibility for Rovers. would certainly had some "bite" to midfield but has a worse injury record than Grella
Aberdeen Blue Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Heard from a Geordie friend that Alan Smith is a loan possibility for Rovers. The ex-Arsenal centre forward?
m1st Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Heard from a Geordie friend that Alan Smith is a loan possibility for Rovers. But what are his wage demands likely to be? I seem to remember him being discussed on another thread late last year and, if a reduction in the wage bill is a priority for our owners, then I don't think smudger is likely to be joining us, even on loan. If Newcastle made him available for transfer last June, which they did, and he's still on their books, which he is, it sounds as though he may well be another one like Wayne Bridge [allegedly] with a reputation for not selling his services cheaply. And, of course, which of us would if we were in his situation? On top of that, he also has something of a reputation. According to Wiki, In total Smith has been sent off seven times and booked 67 times in the Premier League. He has committed 500 fouls in the competition since 2002–03 making him the sixth most prolific fouler.
