The latest I heard was that he had picked up an injury which was delaying the move.

Then let's go back in for Silva if his contract talks have broken down.

It wouldn't suprise me if he kind of did the opposite to Spain in the Euros. No keeper, no defenders, just a team full of attacking midfielders and forwards. A feckin mentalist is our coco! :blink:

Yeah no point in buying an injured player.

A hamstring strain shouldn't stop you buying a player. He's either good enough or he's not. If he was recovering from an Op, then fair enough.

Surely we want players who can hit the ground running though?

If he's good enough he will be fine in 6 weeks time. Could you see United turning around last minute and cancelling RVP if he had a slight calf strain?

I actually think it's a healthy approach. Better to be cautious than signing a player with a potential recurring problem.

Most likely he'll be good to go in 2-6 weeks, I doubt he'll sign for anyone else during that time.

The difference between RVP and Diogo is that RVP is world class so you wouldn't give up on him no matter what. Diogo is relatively unknown and we already have got a shed load of them in.

I wouldn't sign him anyway, but that's not the point. IF you want him then you wouldn't be put off by a hamstring strain. If he was on a 6 month loan then it would probably put you off.

why are people making such a big deal over this lad, he will probably most likely end up doing a righters, play in the reserves, go out on loan to a foreign or lower league mickey mouse club and then disappear when he will be found playing in some back-water foreign league
