Very curious indeed. Just checked a couple of betting sites I use and none of them have an open book for the next manager.

Unless they've suspended betting while Bowyer etc are in charge, might reopen at the end of the month?

I imagine that the next Rovers manager bets are an absolute minefield for bookies. No one, probably not even Venkys have a clue who will be appointed at this stage.

Nail on the head, the stupid Chicken people probably want Coco the Clown Kean back.

No truth in Appleton Rumour

Glen are you sweating on your pledge to resign from the Action Group chairmanship if Rovers don't appoint an experienced manager?

Presumably Bowyer doesn't count as 'experienced'?

Not sweating at all, be quite nice to have my life back :-p

There must be quite a list of managers who have been favourite for the Rovers job. I just can't believe in the Michael Appleton rumour it seems all a bit out of left field even under our current owners.

Are Dickov / Flitcroft experienced?

both have experience as a manager. but not championship manager with experience of promotion out of this league.

when people/fans say they went an experience manager? wat type of experience did they need? promotion out of championship on cv? premiership experience?

'Experienced' is much too subjective a word.

By the very definition of the word, Kean is now an experienced manager.

Am I wrong in saying Shebby said our next manager would have experience in the PL?

Shebby will give his opinion to the owners on the next manager, but the final decision isn't/wasn't his.

I, have experience in the premier league, but it's as a supporter, not a manager.

So you sticking with your assertion this morning that deal done on a handshake and appointment within a couple of days ?

Also, you still haven't responded to my earlier point where I asked you to deny that Dickov was the man !

Nor should it be in fairness.

He's proven with the likes of McKinlay and Berg that he hasn't got the foggiest what he's looking for.

The fact that nobody is denying Dickov worries me.

Would be a horrendous appointment on every level.

Is there any chance that the next manager isn't a complete pudding MG.Road? (Seeing as you know who it might be)

IMO - If all goes to plan and this deal goes through I'm guessing there'll be a 60/40 split between people preferring Bowyer to the new man.

I can't see anybody being terribly unhappy about it though.

So it all rests with Venky's? Phew... I was worried for a moment.

That takes Dickov out of the equation then. SGE perhaps?

Deal is done on a handshake - yes.

Sorry. I didn't realise it was a direct question.

Why would he play that game?

First, if he denies one, then another, then a third, etc. then by process of elimination you (or the public) could determine the next manager.

Second, there is no deal, only a handshake. Which means the information he thinks he possesses may not actually be any good. This is Venkys were talking about here. Even they don't know what their doing one day to the next.

Third, I thought your sources were impeccable. Why don't you ask them?

So you also are telling me you'd only be happy if the club appoints the precise person you have in mind and would not"ACCEPT"any of those mentioned in the poll(I'm starting to see where Singhs coming from with the fickle fan comments)

You very cleverly called me and anyone else voting 'someone else' a 'simpleton' and made reference to kids posting.

Not sure why, as the list created was purely other people guessing who may be in the frame, as most knowledegable fans easily understood. Now you try and put words in my mouth with your childish comment above and presumably believe that capital letters and a different colour adds credence and credibility to your post?

Not sure what your problem is, but it subsequently appears that the new manager may not even be mentioned on the list above so anyone voting 'someone else' was in fact bang on the money. Who's the simpleton?
