Then they wonder why most kids no longer have an interest in playing cricket. I believe its on BBC IPlayer from 6pm Tyrone? But your point still stands, where was that advertised.... I didn't bother with TNT this morning, I haven't enjoyed the coverage in the past, so I stuck with TMS on BBC Rdaio 5 Live Sports Extra and enjoyed that. 1 Quote
Darrenbot Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Didn't see any of it as it's been put behind a paywall. The fact that something as big as the Cricket Ashes is allowed to be made to pay to see it is a disgrace. Why is it not on the protected list of sports like the football world cup is. 3 Quote

Mattyblue Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Away series were never part of the ‘crown jewels’ protected free to air event list, however home series were (until 2005), then the ECB lobbied the government to remove themselves from it so they could make more from subscription TV… and the profile of cricket in this country has only declined since. 1 Quote
wilsdenrover Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Here’s a question… The first role of an opener used to be to see off the new ball. If they’re always just going to ‘go for it’ from ball one is there any reason to use specialists (I use that term lightly in regard to ours!)? Personally I don’t see the point, we might as well just pick the best six batsmen we have and draw lots for what order they bat in. Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 1 hour ago Moderation Lead Posted 1 hour ago Just turned this on. Good grief. Quote
Norbert Rassragr Posted 32 minutes ago Posted 32 minutes ago Bazball is absolutely cretinous. Not having a decent defence to back up trying to hit it out the park is utterly useless. I agree with Wilsdenrover that the openers should be able to absorb the pressure and build the innings. If they play like this in the second test, McCullum and Stokes must be binned off at the end of another humiliation. Quote
jim mk2 Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago Pathetic and as predicted. You can get away with batting like amateurs in one innings but not a second time. Horrible losing to them in any circumstances but this is a humiliation. Quote

They don't always 'Go for it' as we saw earlier this year against India. They play the opposition, most of the time we win, occasionally we lose, but we do have room for a draw or 2, I’ll give you that. We've scored over 800 against Pakistan, over 500 against NZ, over 500 against Zimb, winning many of these tests. Don't let the 'nay sayers' on here muddy the waters, the facts speak louder than the bullshit, Quote
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted 22 minutes ago Moderation Lead Posted 22 minutes ago From the hour I’ve watched this morning, we’ve just been Bazballed. This second test was a mullering, let’s have it right. Quote

They certainly don’t seem to have much of an ability to ‘change tack’ mid match. When it works it’s great but when it doesn’t (such as today) it’s awful - I hoped by now they might have found more of a middle ground. Quote

Perth was always going to be a bit of a 'shoot out' for me, we usually win those types of games. On to Gabba next, well done Aussies, we'll get you next time, I hope!
