Feel this deserves a topic of its own as its really quite a bombshell and leaves us under no illusion of the current plight

Several people (including Glen and mark from BRFCAG) have just tweeted that moments ago at the 'evening with...' at Ewood Derek Shaw has confirmed that it would be highly likely that we will face a transfer embargo if we fail to go up this season

If Shaw is talking about a transfer embargo then does that suggest that it's FFP related?

In which case, it would mean that Venkys are continuing to fund the club and that we will fall foul of the rules. I guess it explains why we have got so many players in over the Summer.

Clutching at straws maybe...

Transfer embargo?! Half the team's in the championship will fall foul of ffp, will they really place a transfer embargo on all those teams and therefore severely weaken the whole league?! Of course not.

If any of the following don't get promoted this season then they are in danger of falling foul of the ffp: forest, QPR, Wigan, Reading, blackburn, Bolton, Leicester, wolves (if they get promoted), Derby, Watford, Leeds, and Middlesbrough

The punishments for falling foul of ffp will most probably be reduced to a fine and `more time` to get your finances in order. By that time, ffp will have been thrown out of court.

I hope you are right.

But to be safe - us fans should pack out ewood and cheer the team on to promotion.

its that not a restricted of trade under EU laws???

not a fan FFP and it will always favour the big clubs. yet again

That's what some clubs are arguing.

The FFP rules basically are going to make the championship similar to league two, no-one's wage bills are sustainable.

Whether it does or it doesnt Chaddy it confirms we are still spending millions more than we are bringing in and still losing fortunes. And parachute falls in half next year too.He obviously doesnt see us getting it under control any time soon then does he??

The legacy these morons have given us and a year of Shebby nonsense will set us back years and we might never recover from it.The Club is rotten on the inside.Just thank god we are actually enjoying the playing side for once in a very long time.

Promotion or bust-never a truer word apparently

FFP won't happen. The big rich clubs don't want it and in football the bigger richer people generally get their way.

In the championship alone, if Bolton, Blackburn, Forest, Leicester etc are all on transfer embargos next season then it makes a mockery of the whole league. If it was just one or two clubs then the league would probably sanction a transfer embargo. As it's many clubs, the league simply won't impose anything other than a fine.

More likely we will be selling our best talent to comply with the FFP.

Lets hope the academy have some good young uns.

No. It sounds like we have already accepted that we will fall foul of FFP and suffer an embargo. Therefore we need to keep players.

If not it really is League One here we come!

but is it not done on the size of your losses? in which case thats one league table we will murder.

we must be far more punishable than the others because of how far wide of the mark we are.none of the others will be as far down the river as us -we just p1ss cash away.

oh and a fine is ok is it? maximum fine (which must be us) is about £10million isnt it?

Also thought the PL clubs are forced into under UEFA rules whereas in the Championship the clubs voted for it themselves so doubt something they have all signed up to is going to get thrown out.

A fine is only fine if Venkys are paying the fine.

If they stop paying then we are screwed either way.

I know Stuart i agree with you-but just how far do they go with this charade? none of it makes sense and they are just p1ssing cash away -and its a championship team NOT the PL team they thought they were investing in. Mind blowing
