Backroom Tom Posted March 31, 2014 Backroom Posted March 31, 2014 £90 is what I think of it What an absolute disgrace I can't see them going through with that
tkturner Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Americans with their "match" shirt or cheaper "stadium" version... Still, £60 is expensive in my book... I reckon it looks a bit boring as well, lots of other countries with classy designs compared to what we have. All this nonsense about being inspired by English knights? And some guy drafted in to design a font for the names and numbers? Like anyone would know the difference between that and a microsoft office one!
windymiller7 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Not too flattering for those of us who are partial to a pie & pint at half time!! Reminds me of the fit of the old Kappa kit we used to have which tended to 'enhance my natural curves' shall we say!

Also believe they employed a colour consultant as well. Got to justify the cost of the shirt to cover their loss making underhand deal to land the England contract.
roverandout Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 never mind the strip, England's world cup song is @#/?, has no reference to football or England at all.
cn174 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 £90!!! The robbing gets! Thing about the American game/stadium shirt thing, is that they don't actually change their jerseys very often, so if you get one it is good for 5/10 years or until the player you have on the back has left. England will have two more shirts out again next year no doubt.
thenodrog Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Dont we play in White shirts/blue shorts these days?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted March 31, 2014 Moderation Lead Posted March 31, 2014 Nice shirt, but footy shirts cost about the same as a smart polo shirt these days. I know where I'd rather my money went!!
Majiball Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Are you holding your breath in Rooney??? Looks like quite a tyre round his waist
Backroom Tom Posted March 31, 2014 Backroom Posted March 31, 2014 Dont we play in White shirts/blue shorts these days? White shirts white shorts Apparently uefa asked the FA to change to one colour as it's easier to view on tv
cn174 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 White shirts white shorts Apparently uefa asked the FA to change to one colour as it's easier to view on tv I've seen this a few times, but I'm not sure it's true... most other countries which have different coloured shorts have kept theirs. For example Portugals away shirt is white with blue shorts and white socks.
perthblue02 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Apparently it was FIFA because of HD tv http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/england-wear-all-white-kit-world-3204389 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/fifa-new-world-cup-kits-2816201
Audax Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I have an umbro England shirt from years ago, very close to that red one. Reversible to blue for whatever that means so maybe not a top quality shirt but it seems to get the job done. An international shirt is virtually an international shirt, the England one is very traditional imho versus those of some other countries for 2014, I would say Mexico and Germany if you see theirs. The design of Mexico and Germany seem to have that chevron pattern like this. http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/96/be/5d/96be5d5e5ea91e106333e5a66bb5d5eb.jpg Still looks fine, only saying it really dates the shirt.
McClarky Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 £90? Ha ha. Surely no one would pay that would they. Fools and their money though I suppose. Nike will charge what they want if people are stupid enough to pay it. Basic economics.
Neal Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Couldn't care less what shirt they wear. England national team are a bunch of overpaid millionaires who can't play together as a team. God knows how they think this team is good enough to inspire people to pay £90 for one... Disgusting.
