Let's face it, most folk can't stand the very rich unless they are throwing some wealth their way. In the case of football fans, at their club. Venkys have infuriated us with their bad decision making, lack of communication and perceived arrogance. They, like Rovers, have been shafted big time but look like being here for the long haul. Hopefully, the corner has been turned.

I don't really see the point or understand the OP.

The owners aren't clowns. They are very successful business people. They made massive mistakes at Rovers and they have admitted as much but they have invested millions.

Invested millions? Haven't they lost millions?

Given that the losses were clearly avoidable isn't "clowns"' a fair description?

He turned up in a white ford escort in the early days of his reign and drank halves of bitter in the John Lewis complex. Nowt flash about Jack. Besides the tantric one arranged that fleet of Bentleys when they rolled into town that time. Two birds with one stone for him there, impress the Venkys And wind up the fans in one go.

So glad we are moving on from that now.

I would in private. I would not flaunt my wealth in the faces of those living in one of the most deprived ateas of the country though.

Time and a place for everything and all that.

They all have ipads, Nikes, iPhone ' s , drink a lot and scoff fast food etc...I'd treat them to a look through the gates at my Lamborghini Aventador.

The opening post in this thread is unbelievably disrespectful to our club and it's fans and the writer should be tarred and feathered and dragged through the streets of Blackburn to be feasted upon by wild dogs. What an utter load of knee bending, cap dothing tosh. I couldn't disagree more than I do with every word of this and seriously fear for the future if this represents the opinion of even 1% of our fan base. Fair enough, Lambert may turn out to be a good appointment, but this is 1 appointment after 5 years of 1 of the worst regimes in the history of football. Not even worth commenting on the rest of this absolute guff apart from to say that I thought it must be a wind up from a Dingle but I doubt anyone would be so brazen.

I was so incensed that I consulted the conscience of the message board, ABBEY, and he broke his caps lock in reply.

Can't believe that wrongdoing can be brushed off and excused by the victims so easily. Would we forgive someone for beating us up every day if they bought us the occasional lollipop? Sone probably would.

I love your passion!

However, one phrase in the opening post resonated big time with me. Actually, it rather caught me off guard, amidst the euphoria about the new appointments:

"You came here, you destroyed the thing we all loved. "

I am not always sure how to distinguish a kind of Stockholm syndrome from a little speck of hope that this is a sign that things really are going to be different.

Obviously, loads of questions do remain.e.g. why waste 5 years on cheap appointments? why waste the parachute payments?...why allow the belief in BRFC to be all but extinguished for so many ( me included)?......and, of course, why change now?

And that is turning aside from other even bigger questions around flushing premiership status down the toilet, Anderson, Agnew and Kean,(a firm of bent solicitors or what!) along with globule advisers and other reptiles.

I had a fantasy of changing our family surname by deed poll to my message-board name, so I do know where you are coming from. However, as a hypothetical question, what would we need to see for us to start to believe that the cancer is finally gone?

1 good appointment, should never cloud people's judgment about Venkys. Alot of years disregard for fans, sending the club to the championship, allowing Kean to destroy us, and still allowing Shaw to enjoy a nice fat pay day.

An even bigger question Leonard is "when are you going to change your MB name?"!!

I guess that when you do, that's the day we will know the cancer has left the Club!

I was thinking about this and maybe only now with most of the useless overpaid players etc who were connected to the treacherous duo & co rooted out of the club they are finally in full control.

It perhaps has taken that long to sever the ties and maybe even pay off people with an unofficial stake or something and now the owners have a free reign to put brass in that will actually be used to better the club instead of a large chunk of it going into outsiders pockets. That's what's happened to most of the income from players and tv and parachute money since they came in it seems.

Either that or it's their last throw of the dice after the 'chute money has gone.

Would that be the Male, Female or alternate version ?

Whichever you want. I draw the line at Voyeurism though

Just read this gem on the LET comments

" Rovers were in a hugely difficult financial position when Venkys bought the club because the Walker Trust were more than happy to see us go into administration. There's no logical reason for hatred of Venkys so you must have another agenda, draw a line in the sand and don't fester on the past."

Truly stupefying. Some people are truly thick

History rewriting at it's finest, they might have shut the purse and we may even have ended up going down sooner or later but I doubt they'd ever have put the club in admin. If they really were that desperate we'd have been sold to 'lifelong Rover' Dan Williams and his hedge fund which probably went up in smoke soon after during the worldwide credit crunch.

Serious questions still need asking as to why we ended up in the state we did though and some of it is on their doorstep......

We haven't taken a single step towards curing the cancer until the club is sorted out. People on here say it doesn't mater who is in charge but my argument would be that without a proper management structure at any club that club will never succeed. A manager on his own can do very little so we should be hiring a CEO and then filtering down from there. Anyway, f*** it, just back from pub and looking forward to Saturday.
