Would dropping down to 8th or 9th not be considered a huge disappointment and an unsuccessful season considering the position?

Last season we again rose near the top at this time of year despite much less optimistic expectations and the subsequent drop made things very toxic.

I think the same will apply this season, as applied last. Yes, we are exceeding expectations just now, but to drop to 8th or 9th is bound to been seen as unsuccessful now, as we will have thrown away a big opportunity.

I don't expect us to finish in the top 6, so I won't be disappointed if we don't.

If we do, however, I'd be ecstatic!

Depends what Norwich and Rovers and others do in this window.

6th is up for grabs as I think that WBA, Boro and Watford will be in the playoffs.

The top 2 will be the same and same positions as of now.

So .... I've changed 7-13 to 6-13 for us ..... Now that's elastic.

No one went into last season expecting much different to this season yet we were all fuming when it fell apart. Maybe one of those where it would hurt more than people realise if it happens. Lets hope it doesnt as successive collapses would really grate. If we keep Brereton and gamble then the pressure intensifies.

  • Moderation Lead

The main concern for us is Watford and Norwich going berserk in the transfer market. If we strengthen in attack and a bit in midfield, there’s no reason we can’t stay where we are. I’m happier with our (central) defensive options than I have been for a long time!

Transfer window will make or break it (like last season) - we were on 46 points with a +13 GD at this stage last season vs 42 points and 0 GD, and we all remember how it ended!

I think Boro, WBA and Watford take 3rd to 5th unless they lose any key players in Jan. Whilst Millwall, Luton and Norwich if they strengthen battle for 6th.

We end up slumming it out with Sunderland, Coventry, Swansea and PNE for a top 10 finish. I fancy us to finish exactly 10th. The next 3 or 4 games are huge for us though, beat all those struggling teams and I'll start to believe we can do it, as it's looking like a potential record low points total to get into the top 6 at this rate.

70 points was enough in 19/20 for Swansea who finished 6th, and at this stage the playoff places were occupied by 44, 43, 42, 41 points
