So they did strengthen the squad, a lot. Just not in perhaps the most efficient way or in a way that Slot can maximise and get the best from.

Did they strengthen at centre back or right wing or number 6 defensive midfielder position?

Instead of spending millions on Isak why not strengthen those 3 positions instead?

They got a centre back who looked handy but he did his ACL quite early on can't remember his name

18 years old centre back Leoni?

I would gone for Van Hecke or Konsa if Ive been at Liverpool. Also I wouldn't have sold Quansah either.

They spent £450 Million in the summer 😅.

Recouped a fair bit in fees as well but yep, everyone thought their recruitment was a masterstroke at the time and the rest of the League might as well not bother turning up for the next 10 years.

As for Salah he's got some front. Has absolutely stunk the place out with his performances this season, was deservedly dropped to the bench and has the nerve to blame the Club. What a way to ruin a legacy.

Id imagine Liverpool gave him a new deal safe in the knowledge that the Saudi's would always still want him as the poster boy for their League if things went tits up at their end.

Snip from Guardian report:

"The imperious Adam Wharton was the architect of the opening goal when he picked out Tyrick Mitchell on the left before the England midfielder eventually played in Nketiah, whose crisp finish left Bernd Leno flailing at thin air."

You seem very invested in this Liverpool team.

Wolves are absolutely shocking. United aren't that much better but if this is how they're set for the season I don't think they'll even reach Derby's total.

The United goal was also just awful from every single player's POV, on both teams.

1-1 right on HT though.

They might draw a bit of confidence from that.

It would be really funny if they beat the Red Scum.

Wolves are just a poor team. Rob Edwards has a huge job there to turn the club and make them into promotion challenges next season. I suspect we see that start in terms of signings in and out.

Saw a 5 minute highlight of the Wolves Vs Man United game, and the goalkeeper made Pears look like Buffon. The defenders were almost as bad.

I can understand why Rob Edwards couldn't turn down the Wolves job cos of his connections to the club which I respected but its a massive rebuilding job there for next season

Not only his connections but a massive pay rise and at least being a Premier League manager short term

You didnt respect them reasons, you said that he shouldnt consider those reasons.

Back to BS again, him and Wolves will be the championship next season.

Is Edwards short of money? Nope.

I think he would have took Boro up this season and Gibson would have back him in January and next summer.

What sort of backing is he getting at Wolves in January to reshape the squad for next season?

Lots of I think and guesses as to what might have happened at Boro but ultimately he will be better off financially, he will be probably living back at home and they are factors you ridiculously said at the time he shouldnt consider. And backed up with saying that Theo Walcott said the same as if that was a clincher!

Money is still important even if you earning a good wage to begin with, its better to have a lot more.

I rather have another promotion on my CV than another relegation on my CV.

You are obsess with financially matters like its the main thing. Rob Edwards would have plenty of money already. He ain't short of it.

I think Boro was a better bet to be successful and have better financially better than Wolves is. Steve Gibson is a fantastic owner.

He's got a million times more of a chance of promotion next season with Wolves than he would ever have with Boro.

I would say winning games, trophies and achieving things is the main reward. Money is great but most PL or championship managers/head coach arent poor.

We arent going to agree on Edwards to move to Wolves. I understand his reasons after listening to his interview when he got the job but I still think Boro was a better bet to be in PL in the league. That's Wolves squad is bloody awful and summer recruitment was a disastrous for them. Taking the Wolves job was guaranteed relegation on his CV this season and his focus will be on next session and beyond. You wont agree on all that, @roversfan99so can agree to disagree and move on.
