Not sure where to post this or if it's already been mentioned, but we appear to be finally stepping up the search for a CEO.

Blackburn to step up chief exec search

By Alan Nixon

Blackburn Rovers are to revive their search for a new chief executive.

The post has been left vacant for months after an initial round of short listing failed to find a suitable candidate.

The position was being reduced to little more than a stadium manager which put off many football figures.

However Rovers now realise they need an extra body behind the scenes with more adverse publicity recently over the postponement of a second game.

Blackburn have been running with a reduced management team since Steve Waggott moved out but now they will renew the chase for an extra pair of hands.

Did I read earlier that a certain someone is supposed to be in India?

Coincidence?? I doubt it.

lets see who we appoint and what experience/background they have?

Makes no difference if it is someone underneath Suhail. Wont have any power and will be overruled.

More window dressing to come then.

Panic stations with the humiliation of the pitch and stadium making national news.

Solution - invest serious money in sorting the issue out? Oh no

But drip a couple of tales to Nixon about spending money in January, looking for a new CEO and getting advice from the Man City/Man Utd consultants - costs nothing but keeps them quiet for a few months.

Made national news where?

Well both postponements were all over Sky Sports and football channels/twitter with lots of people questioning why it has happened not once but twice, and apparently the EFL are investigating.

This is the sort of heat the shadow dwellers at Ewood don't like - questions and pressure from outside disturbing their comfy existence - and probably the only coverage that risks getting back to India HQ and some questions being asked.

Best way to head it off is to drip a few bits to the friendly reporter and nip it in the bud

Depends if he is still around.

The quality of appointment will tell us everything. That's was my overall point,

The fact that for the first 7 years of their ownership and for the last 7 months they haven't had any CEO tells us everything.

Things only ever happen either when the pressure/relegation threat starts to get significant (Paul Senior, Coyle fired, Mowbray comes in) or when someone gets out to India and has a word.

Route one of that is happening right now just as it did in 2016/17 so expect to see more of this for keeping up appearances.

No indication from Nicko's piece that anything has changed and that that the new appointment wouldnt still be purely ceremonial.

After the debacle of the pitch fiasco, they just want someone to cop the flak the next time the **** hits the fan.

Which probably won't be very long.

We had managing director in Derek Shaw for a number of those 7 years tho.

Ah yes, someone prepared to be a willing patsy for allegedly going rogue for the purposes of a Court case (and then not being sacked)

Bit like Broughton taking the blame for catastrophic happenings (and then not getting sacked)

If Suhail is still around?

Of course he will. He is bullet proof. He is a snake who has been attached to Venkys all this time.

We could get a brilliant CEO and he would be set up to fail here. Would be like appointing Pep Guardiola as assistant manager to Steve Kean.

well he ain't currently and its Robert Coar running the club like it was for a period of time of the summer.

I like said previously, we will see how much power this new CEO appointment by who we actually appoint

Sounds like the role is that dummed down nobody actually wants it.

Which means either it stays vacant or we get another no mark like Gestede into the role who has no skills or background in running a football club.

'Failed to find a candidate'

What a shambles..nobody wants the job it seems, nobody wants to work under the Punatics.

Everything that is wrong with our Club laid bare.

Now,NOW is the time for the Coalition(?) to be stepping up the pressure!

Interesting statement Chaddy. Do you suspect (like I do) that it will just be a CEO title rather than in responsibility?

Depending who we will appoint and what sort of level of experience will determine my opinion and whether its just CEO title or whether they do have the sort of responsibility I would expect?

No I don't believe the CEO or DoF should have the sole responsible to sack the head coach but it should owner should be involved and back decision in conjection with the CEO and DoF

All good theory but never happens here. And you always caution us wait and see what will happen when he Club/owners make a big decision., but the result is always the same----gross disappointment.

I expect nothing from them but more disappointment.

They could appoint the best CEO in the game, it makes no difference as they have no power to do anything at the club under the current regime.

The only club in the league that expands its club management/head of/corporate positions whilst its non player income is sliding to a new modern day low.

Trying to run it like a chicken nugget corporation when it needs a bottom upwards rebuild.

WHEN will they realise it ALL revolves around what happens on a playable pitch with a decent team ?
