Mattyblue Posted January 26 Posted January 26 We went into that season with a load of optimism, real buzz around the ground that night… of course we fell away. 1 Quote
Popular Post Guy N. Cognito Posted January 26 Popular Post Posted January 26 Just another in a long line of chancers who never would've got a look-in pre-Venky's. Out of his depth and just looking to use Rovers to monkey-branch his way to a better gig. The fact he went on protest here as a player merely adds to the unsavouriness of it all. 18 Quote
scotchrover Posted January 31 Posted January 31 If Venky’s don’t want us in League 1 again, he goes (along with Val) tonight. 9 Quote
OnionBalaji Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Hopefully Rudy is getting ready to make the call and get rid of his best pal Val this morning. if it happens - let’s turn the heat on him and Pasha - these three individuals have to go. The list of fuck ups, awful decisions, downright neglect is already so long it’s farcical they can keep getting away with it. 2 Quote

All there actions so far have shown this. It will all be much easier and cheaper to run a middling league one club than a middling championship one. It's all about bringing the club down to a level thats comfortable for them to manage. As things stand the club is far too big for them. Edited February 1 by MarkBRFC 8 Quote

For one - any shortfall in the playing staff wages cannot be made up by directors loans. They must actually lose cash. They run rules similar to the EPL - called SCMP Edited February 1 by Dreams of 1995 1 Quote

As things stand the club is far too big for them. In theory it sounds plausible, but on closer inspection I am not so sure. We're a Championship club with the legacy of a Premiership structure. Although things have been starved on the playing front, we have a 31,000 seater stadium and Cat 1 Youth Academy. You have to factor in the structural costs of running the club, staffing levels, maintaining the ground (even if it is half-empty) and the less tangible cost of fan expectations. Even if a contingent of our supporters have been beaten down, the rest won't settle for following a League One side. It would take some SERIOUS restructuring for us to function at third-tier level. If the goal is cost-control, then League One is a terrible place for Rovers. Like I said before, this is pure neglect from disengaged, disinterested, and disgraceful owners. 1 Quote

At the heart of the image is our hugely experienced former captain who we were happy to see leave embracing our only reliable defender who this twat saw fit to sell on deadline day. 1 Quote

Aqualung Posted Monday at 20:30 Posted Monday at 20:30 Is there a more unlikeable man behind the scenes at any professional football club? I don't hate many folks tbh... But Gestede is on a par with Russell Brand in my book. Can't stand to look at either of them. 🤮 3 Quote

Hovering around lower bottom of the championship wouldn't bother this lot. Bring players in, flip them, repeat. Cut costs. Results mostly irrelevant. However, league one is a big drop in income. Costs for the owners significantly increase and there is only Alebiosu of any value (even that isn't going to be substantial). They've sold all the silver. Even Tyjon walks for next to nothing now. Getting back out of league one would require another squad overhaul. That will only happen if the owners shell out. The Pasha/Gestede project will have failed completely. They will be in panic mode I expect. 3 Quote

Popular Post JHRover Posted Monday at 21:51 Popular Post Posted Monday at 21:51 One day maybe we will find out just how an ex player with no background in management or even coaching managed to waltz his way into running a Championship football club. Something very dodgy going on or perhaps just chief Venky stooge not knowing his arse from his elbow and getting drawn into it thinking he could run the snow through his puppet. Either way a total disgrace and within less than a year he's taken us through soon to be three managers, a chief executive, countless background staff and players, and soon to be a relegation. But mates with chief stooge so hey, he's safe. Perhaps when someone gets around to sifting through the wreckage of this season he will be held responsible and removed. Then again maybe not under these disgusting people. 12 Quote
John Posted Monday at 22:05 Posted Monday at 22:05 No one half decent would surely want to work under Gestede? RG has no credibility whatsoever. 9 Quote

Popular Post RoversClitheroe Posted 15 hours ago Popular Post Posted 15 hours ago (edited) He is up there for me. One of the worst people to have been involved in our club ever. First of all as a player refusing to play to force a move. Second of all selling all of our good players and replacing them with wank. Second of all, that absolutely ridiculous Summer Window where he genuinely believed he improved the squad through that window. He is absolute poison. Edited 15 hours ago by RoversClitheroe 10 Quote
