So far from being a back-up, it seems Alebiosu is the new starter. They must have known Brittain wanted to leave because they didn't offer his a fair contract.Β

I bet we lose Trav and Tron too now, replace them with more cheap relegated European players. We're a basket case of a club.

I said I expect 2 of Travis, Tronstadt and Brittain to be gone by September. This is number one incoming.
Β

The minute we signed a right back for a fee the writing was on the wall. I doubt a realistic contract for one of the better Champ players in his position has been offered.Β

I think we're quickly going to find out how good Duru is.Β

Cash in on him? And do what with the cash? Reinvest in the squad?Β

Give your head a wobble. They've not reinvested sales in absolute years (maybe never)

Gestede literally said that fees brought in do not influence the current budget.Β

Hard to be too surprised, as it was pointed out the other day - a good chunk of the website thinks there’s some sort of magic black hole and that our wage bill is made up.

You have to be a dingle.

You're literally excusing Venkys?

Nobody is going to argue that our owners are interested or investing.Β

Fair contract is all context. He might be on 8k, we might have offered 12k - it's been rumoured Cantwell is on 20k. He might want that but we can't afford it - not with trying to get down the income to wages ratio. And even if they could match at 20k - Boro might be offering 25k.Β

Essentially once other established Championship teams become interested, we cannot compete financially.Β

@roverstdtΒ @JBizΒ what would you do? Venkys holding out for what?Β

There's little to no investment.

It's pure managed decline.

What's the end game?

Make Β£200m back from selling players? We have little to no assets left to sell.

So then what?

Let the club liquidate and put it into admin?

People have literally approached the Venkys in the last 12 months to buy the club.

They won't sell.

So what is the fucking point?

Explain yourselves.

the point;

Facts are important. Slag the owners for lots of what you said, but give the fucking β€œvenky black hole” a rest because it makes you and others sound like conspiracy nutjobs.

I don't think you understand.

As you've missed all my post and talked about conspiracies.

Give us your honest view on Venkys, direction, and why they own us?Β

I'm intrigued.

Eustace wanted the contracts sorted back in December. The players by all accounts wanted to discuss contracts.
Β

The club had no plan beyond this summer and therefore wouldn’t sanction what we all knew was the right thing to do.Β
Β

Ismael is now talking about learning from mistakes of the past (with regards to contract situation). Don’t bother pal. It happens regardless of who’s in the chair. The incumbents just blame their predecessors. The only constant is Suhail.

Sell all three if they don’t sign contracts.

We lost three players on a free before and I’d rather get some money than lose them on a free- especially Brittain- everything that is wrong with modern football in a nutshell.

They haven’t offered Travis a contract. They’ve only just offered Brittain one in the last couple of weeks when they could have renewed it at the start of the year. Tronstadt, who knows?

So I want to keep them.

Β Any money brought in doesn’t affect what we can spend and doesn’t get reinvested, so what good is 3 or 4 million if we just end up playing with kids or relegated Euro-fodder.
