cesus Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago For all the shite these owners have brought I refuse to let myself get drawn into a "Derby County" pile on, I refuse to gasp at the might of Wrexham and Birmingham being in the league. I know what I've had supporting my club for 40+ years, this at the moment isn't my club. 2 Quote

They've started it already with the 'rejection' of their new contract offer and this is cranking it up a notch with him 'asking to leave' to join Derby.Β All part of the game being played - not Rovers fault, it's the player - just get your plastic snakes out and give them a wave. Poor old Elliott Jackson is - unwittingly I suspect - central to this - the club using him to get their narrative out in a late bid to pacify the fanbase. Sadly I fear the majority of our fanbase are that thick they will fall for it. They've done it so many times now that they are quite skilled at it and each and every time the twitterati and Venkygraph readers are pointing the finger of blame at those leaving and not the rancid parasites that infest Ewood.Β Β I liked Ismael speaking the truth. Just wish it wasnβt all bad newsβ¦ Quote

superniko Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) If we were a normal run club, then Iβd have absolutely no qualms selling Travis at all, knowing that a normal club would reinvest that money properly. He is the epitome of the Rovers rubber dinghy boys, goes hiding in any crucial match, praised for being a βshithouseβ but lacking in the basics (see the goal on Saturday). People will say we canβt sell as heβs an academy lad (so was Jason Lowe) Heβs a solid Championship midfielder, but heβs not dragging you over the line to promotion (he barely played at Ipswich). That said, the money just goes into the black hole so what on earth would be the point of selling him at all. Weβve already shown that Rudy, Suhail and co arenβt up to the task of replacing players properly. Given weβre looking like relegation fodder right now, Iβd much rather keep hold of him! Tomphil2 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago So the anonymous director was there tonight, Venkys finance man surely no coincidence. No doubt instructing Gestede he must seek offers for anyone he can get a fee for. Quote

Travis is probably on around 15 to 20kpw at Rovers. We don't pay anyone more than 20kpw and never will do with Pasha and Ruddy in charge. We should have had Adam Wharton as captain for a season getting us into the Prem and selling for 50m to reinvest for a whole new squad... instead we have yellow stickers 50p buys from relegated sides around Europe. 2 Quote
JHRover Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Ismael playing the 'club have done everything they possibly can but rival club is putting an offer on the table we just cannot compete with' line I'm struggling to work out at this early stage whether he genuinely believes this or is just happy to play the game his bosses are instructing him to. It is nonsense - of course - we are talking Derby County here not a PL club or even a Leicester/Southampton.Β I think he probably knows this but is still learning what mugs his bosses take people for.Β Quote

Tomphil2 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago There is no way Travis is on 15k pwk here, non and he isn't trousering 30k pwk at a club like Derby, no chance. He'll be on about 10k here ( anybody on that amount or more will be nudged towards the door).Β At Derby he'll get a bit more, a signing on fee plus offered a 3 or 4 year deal. No way was he offered that here either. 2 Quote

The liars and shysters running the club won't mention that to Jackson when they claim to have tried really, really hard to keep him (lie) and will be patting themselves on the back though for 'saving' that wage increase. Only it has led to his departure, a manager's departure and probably will end with relegation to League One.Β Quote
