Why is Nixon obsessed with Blackburn Rovers academy kids ?

The non stories he puts out aren't even newsworthy and rarely something you see in regards to other clubs academies.

Almost as if he is trying to draw attention to our kids for some reason.......

I remember someone telling me years ago that Nixon was in cahoots with the agents...and to be wary of the agenda behind any Rovers related transfer story...

Not sure why this has got 6 likes, is it only me who finds the fact we appear to view kids this age as an extra income stream fairly disgusting?

If you're going to bring them in, at least develop them and then let's see them in the blue and white halves before we flog them on.

Not sure how much choice the club has when it comes kids, someone will know .

If it fails, nothing to do with them, it's all down to the manager ( who was pleading to keep these players)

He wasn't really.

He calmly stated Brittain had received an offer he wanted to accept, (inferring that was the end of it in his eyes) and then then made unsubstantiated accusations about Travis in Public to help ease him out of the door.

Im not certain either but if we have no control at all, why are Chelsea allegedly prepared to pay £750k?

He seems to have got back the loop in recent times for some reason...

Don't know, but I know we've struggled holding onto even older ones in the past.

I clicked like as a thank you for the update as I knew we had a Nixon Sunday Special incoming.

I remember him having a particular obsession with getting Steven Warnock out of the Club years ago.

Cant remember if it was about Warnock specifically or just in general but  I called him out at some point and he didn't like it. Got fairly abusive.

Wonder if he ever found "Dan Williams". Probably riding around on Shergar with Lord Lucan somewhere.

Who is? Brittain was 2nd in the league last season behind Bogle, maybe Roberts had a shout, but neither are in the league now.

Van Ewijk is up there for sure.

Young is 40, he probably wont even be a regular at Ipswich. No way is he better now. Pereira was better in the past but again his day has gone and he is mainly a sub. Roerslev hasnt shown he is better than Brittain either.

He is working his way down the list now he has left.

Van ewijk

Pereira

Jimmy dunne

The main instigator of that one was Capello, who apparently also told Bentley that he needed to leave Rovers to play for England

"There were a few things to it. Fabio Capello had told me if I wanted to go to the World Cup, he wanted to see me at a club fighting for the Champions League," Warnock told Under The Cosh.

Not to say that Nixon didnt also give him/them a nudge on the way out

Jimmy Dunne is definitely not better than Callum Brittain.

Pereira has a far better CV but I dont think he is better now. Not a regular starter for Leicester anymore.

Either way, we will miss Brittian and Alebiosu as encouraged as I have brrn by him will almost certainly not be at that level, it would be unfair to expect him to be.

RE Pereira, he may be first choice now that James Justin is plying his trade at Leeds.  Although Choudhury has been ok there.  Pereira missed the first couple of games of the season, but did come off the bench in the 2 games  before the international break, so maybe given the couple of weeks before their next game, he will be back in the side then?  Too early to say that he isn't their first choice if/when he is fully fit

In terms of pedigree, I would have Pereira above Brittain, it depends if his body holds out and lets him get back to where he was

This is the narrative the people like Gestede and Pasha want. Pull the rug from under his feet by selling the cornerstones of your team and replace with untried foreigners. If it fails, nothing to do with them, it's all down to the manager ( who was pleading to keep these players)

Just like JDT and Eustace, Ismael has both hands tied behind his back trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

If it goes tits up this season I won't be blaming Ismael, I'll know who's to blame

1000% the real problem lies at the feet of the owners, pasha and gestede and no manager can succeed under this regime but he’s seems a poor manager in my opinion.

i also certainly won’t fall for the narratives from them I just don’t think he’s very good

Van Ewijk yes but jimmy dunne I don’t think he is and Pereira unfortunately for him is past his best due to injuries but was a top right back a few years ago

Roughly translated as look we can only really pick shirt sellers so get yourself to a higher profile club so the FA can sell more England shirts with your name on the back.

Outside of Roberts and Bogle now both in prem dunne ranked highest in rbs

standout performer and getting better won’t be at qpr much longer

but he’s the overall picture is we will def miss Brittain

A strange one shrouded in mystery.

I get that he was clearly one that was wanted but if he isnt fit any time soon then it is such a bizarre bit of business.

We have a history of those , see where he ends up , when fit ?

I think the lad from Birmingham is JRC replacement. Youve got the wrong double barrelled name there.

Even Montgomery before O'Grady Macken who doesn't seem to be in the management's thoughts anymore.

Exclusive

By Alan Nixon

Chelsea’s bid to sign super teen Camden Schaper has hit an agonising snag that has left the kid in limbo.

The London giants have agreed a stunning £750,000 deal with Blackburn Rovers for the 13-year-old wonder.

However there is a huge paperwork problem as Schaper is South African and only joined Blackburn’s academy when they got special permission for him to be in the country.

Schaper came to England with his family 18 months ago and was granted residency status to play for Rovers as a young hopeful.

But if Chelsea want to sign Schaper and take him permanently they need to apply for a VISA and that may not be successful because of his age.

And in a further twist Chelsea do not want to spend the money and then risk being snubbed by the government about signing the whizz kid.

The process can only be gone through once the transfer is complete - and that also could impact the player.

If Schaper is not granted a visa to play he would not have a club and be unable to move to any British team until he applies again - a year later.

It is a troubling hurdle for all parties to face and Schaper is currently still at Blackburn until Chelsea decide whether to take the gamble with the bureaucratic system.

Chelsea’s legal team are looking into the problem while Schaper continues to train and play for the Rovers academy.

‘Chelsea do not want to spend the money and then risk being snubbed by the Government’.

Why don’t they just pay the standard compo figure then before taking their chances re the visa??

Very odd.

eh? what are you going on about now?

I've never said he was the best in the league but one of the best which my comments says. The best one is Coventry's right back but Brittain is one of the best in the championship

Blackburn Rovers are worried about letting striker Makhtar Gueye leave - and may block a switch to Turkish side Kocealispor.

The forward has been unsettled by his lack of game time and would welcome a chance to play with a transfer.

However the loan switch is now unlikely as Rovers would be left with just two senior central forwards and young Igor Tyjon.

Both of their first choice attackers will have international duty in the coming months to add to the risk.

And Tyjon is also playing for England youth sides as he is regarded as the best young forward around.

However he is yet to start a Championship match and it would be too much to have him as a regular sub who comes on to save the day.
