and it sounds like they might have commissioned a one-off kit (why you'd do it for a one-off game rather than the whole season I don't know).

Presumably so they can try and flog the one off kit as well as the home kit.

That game is our remembrance game for our fallen hero's, something completely lost on the club.

I believe the 150 celebrations in the main have been diluted as much as possible so they dont have to spend any money in marking the achievement.

Cheap and cheerful and milk the supporters where possible,

What makes me sad is that many of us may not be around to celebrate 175 years.

This is what you get when you have non Rovers supporting shysters running our Club.

The famous Blackburn Rovers has put this Town on the map more than anything I can think of these last 150 years,it deserves so,so much better.

150 years (sorry 135 years) of a proud Blackburn Rovers deserves celebrating.  I worry that it will be a damp squib.

I didn't want to 'thumbs up' felt wrong on such a post but to say, that post is heartbreaking, hit me in the gut, the complete and utter detachment of those within the club and the 150 years of fanbase. Many won't be around for the next big anniversary of their club and we have people like Pasha pissing on our past, present and future.

Sorry, but it really is depressing.

I have flogged myself to get my Club to do things properly.  I have worked with massive companies and  extremely well paid executives  - the ones at Ewood are the worst I have come across; it is all one way (take take take) and all about their ego’s, maybe this is a problem across football but I do think they could do better.

With the present ownership and the Rovers senior leadership team we are only going g one way……backwards.  It would

It would only take a small shift in approach for them to make such a difference.  Sadly the only fan engagement is silly little videos (one way communication) and telling us what they believe we want to hear.

Any exceptions?

3 months today is the 150th anniversary of the formation of Blackburn Rovers at the St Leger Hotel in town.

We should be brimming with excitement and anticipation at this momentous year - yes we should be celebrating the year of our founding not just the day.

What do Rovers have planned:

- the new much vaunted Rovers museum is to be a few glass display cases to show off the contents on ground tours.

- we are to get a 150th Anniversary book but the COO, against the advice of the now departed CEO, wants to have an introduction by the owners which will result in fewer sales.  I hope he sees sense.

- supporters have formally asked for a Blue Plaque at the site of the St Leger Hotel; WATR even gained permission from the site owners but the Club and council are reluctant as “they get stolen”.  Why not think outside of the box and put the plaque a a bit higher and sell plastic replicas in the Club shop?

- I am told that the post match fireworks for the game v Derby were booked but have been cancelled due to the cost.

- what will be the ticket prices for the Derby game?  Will they pitch them at Cat A to ‘milk’ the fans again or will they try and do an offer to entice fans to return.  I do worry as to what route the management (sic) will take.

- nothing more has been heard of the plans for 3 house gable ends to be painted with scenes celebrating 150 years.

- there is a rumour doing the rounds in East Lancashire that Rovers are to order a new TIFO will the images of our illustrious owners.

150 years (sorry 135 years) of a proud Blackburn Rovers deserves celebrating.  I worry that it will be a damp squib.

Perhaps we should use the Derby game as an opportunity to make our views heard.

If those Gable ends could be painted that would be amazing.  How does something like that get commissioned?

Would look great.

We had a Rovers history timeline between the JW,BBE and Darwen End Stands but that all got ripped down without explanation.

Dont get your hopes up.

Maybe it would Mike but personally I will never be able to forgive nor forget what they have done.

Many of us on here wouldn’t, but there is still a sizeable fanbase that would pour through the gates if they just sorted themselves out… but they won’t, so they won’t.

Perhaps BRFCS should have its own celebration.

We’re working on a couple of things…special 4000 Holes fanzine being explored plus our own retro shirt…I’ve said too much already 😉

We are trying to partner with a company to help us with merch. If it comes off then we can put out some designs without bankrupting the site…👍

Thanks great to hear Ian.

I love my retro shirt that I bought off here and will definitely be interested in any anniversary merchandise.

I know we can make it bigger and better on here than the stooges at the club ever will.

The clock is taking, but with the merchandise idea and perhaps a few more other people making suggestions, can put the clubs version to shame,.

I have touted an unofficial fans takeover day and wonder if there would be an appetite for that.

I could be at home alone with a beer and a party popper and I’d have outdone the club’s efforts.

Hardly convincing.  It sounds like a local election return - getting elected on 33% of the vote and less than 10% of the electorate.

The designs were poor.  It should have been handed over to the fans.

I hope they made sure all the votes came from within BwD.
