Surely Tavares starts in the middle?

Is he fully fit though? Played ten minutes last Saturday after recovering from injury. Wouldn't start him but rather have him play final half hour or something. Same goes for Miller.

I normally like to see the youngsters get a run out, but realistically we need to get the new signings up to speed and bedded in.

Wouldn't be surprised to see something like

Michalski

Alebiosu  Miller  Wharton  Pickering

Tavares  (idk, maybe Forshaw)

Hedges           Henriksson            Kargbo

Gueye

And then plan to bring Tyjon, Montgomery etc. off the bench for some minutes

Even against a League One team that line-up terrifies me.

Hedges much too important to risk in a cup game. If he were to get injured we’d have no right wingers…oh, what’s that you say?

I didn't say it was the line up I would pick...

Don't worry, it wasn't a comment on your line-up specifically I agree it's the most likely!

It was more an indictment of where the owners have left us.

i thought kargbo would start,i really can`t understand why he`s not,bit experimental to have miller and wharton at centre back innit🙄,though miller imo looks a natural big defender, who likes to get to the ball first

I genuinely think its a stamina thing, he looks unstoppable for 15 or 20 minutes then fades

If that is the case, then starting him is not an option

Surprised De Neve is starting, probably getting up to speed

Might give him more confidence for next game, and to be fair his speed and stamina were main reason we bought him so three games in a week ought to be fine.

Interested to see Tavares, I know its lower league opposition but a good midfielder should boss this sort of game so it is still a useful insight. And reality is that he is probably the starter when we sell Trav.

Interesting that Miller is at CB, and Henriksson as Right Attacking Mid; the latter could also do with a good game to settle.

In the build up Montgomery will overlap, Miller will take up a right centre back role in a back 3, & Henriksson will move inside to support Tyjon & Gueye

Or at least that will be the intent

Really hope this isn't the case or he will never start a league game. Very common that wingers tire after say 60 minutes in due to constantly making high-intensity runs; think it's more important for Kargbo to improve decision-making and make those runs either when opposition fullback is isolated or during transition moments to create chances. Right now it looks like he just goes for it regardless of where he is on the pitch or how many he's up against.

Hmm I assume it's Henriksson playing wide, not Tyjon. Hopefully he can impact the game more tonight, I'd argue there's less of the pitch to have to focus on out wide, so might suit him more for now since he isn't used to everybody's movement and the tactics yet. Plus weaker opposition so I expect more tonight.

As for Kargbo, maybe he can't do 90 minutes, but he needs to be given at least 60 to start getting to that point. Unless the plan is starting him on Saturday, then I hope he at least comes on at half time.

Any possibility it's three at the back with De Neve and Montgomery playing wing backs?

Good point, maybe. Guess we will see soon.
