Can't see us getting anyone, absolutely no way before Ipswich we are just not capable of doing deals that quickly not with all and sundry needing rubber stamped in Pune

Maybe not before Ipswich, but history tells us that they will get someone, but that someone will be a substandard plodder at the tail end of the window such as Woodrow or Dennis

Did he specifically say we wont spend more than £5k a week?

Or is he just echoing the public knowledge that there is clear intent not to spend much on wages? Hence why we ended up letting experienced Championship players go and signed cheap crap from poor foriegn leagues.

As mentioned before there's always another rung down the ladder to go in competitive sport. More wage and cost cuts, it becomes addictive. It's certainly easy as offloading quality that other clubs would have and turning to the bargain bucket/abroad/academy to fill the void anyone could do.

If we are heading in the direction of less than £10k a week wage cap then there will be plenty in League One outstripping us on wages. And then when we get there, which we will, that figure will drop again and again, until it is less than £5k a week. There's always another step to be taken on the self-inflicted race to the bottom, especially when sporting performance/achievement is no longer even claimed to be of any importance here.

Our contribution to Dennis's wages was allegedly £20k p.w. Doubt it will be anything that ambitious.

(Albeit he turned out to be absolutely bobbins in hindsight)

So we're now reluctant to spend more than 5k a week on wages based on that latest Nixon report? Blimey, we really are gearing up for League One aren't we.😂

Not what was said at all I don't think.

Seems to be a general acceptance that we have a wage ceiling of around £10k p.w. for new signings though.

Pasha and Rudy will want to stop us spending money, as in the eyes of the owners, it will make them look good.

I’ll bet it’s part of their remit.

Never mind winning football matches, the data says no.

Fair enough, I must've misunderstood what was said.

And 10k pw is a pathetic ceiling for an established Championship club. Some promoted League One clubs (most of them this year) have bigger caps than that.

No-one (apart from the Club) would pretend it isnt I don't think.

Id imagine even Pears is on more than that.

It's hardly going to attract the calibre of player needed, particularly as the average wage in the division rises. This model is not built for success. Ultimately anyone trying it will be left behind in terms of quality at this level.

Venky's out. Pasha out!

New owners please that want to win.

We have a significant portion of the fanbase who would accept it if it became officially confirmed.

Connecting flight.

That's a risk, I've seen his link up play.  There's a strong chance this falls through when he's found 10 foot beyond the plane

No he didn't specifically say it. Just Said venkys don't want to pay big wages then Said Gueye Is only on 5k a week so losing his wage won't help much

Nixon saying we have money to bring a couple in but wages are an issue as venkys are reluctant to pay decent wages.  He Said the Chinese club paying £1.8 million for Gueye but that Gueye Is only on 5 grand a week here so shifting his wages won't help to much in bringing others in

Small bit about us possibly bidding again for Bailey Cadamateri again

He was meant to be our big splurge signing at reportedly £1m+ and signing up for 3+ years. Seriously, given the background, if you are player or agent would you be signing up in the Championship at £5k a week, in my opinion, more nonsense.

That sounds like a fictional excuse, peddled out at the behest of the club, rather than reality
