In recent years there's only been a few who have showed no care or effort:

Gueye and Kargbo.

Kargbo making a huge error and just jogging back and we concede. Terrible.

I do agree with you. I was furious with Kargbo that day and was one of many on here having a go, but I feel there is some ability there somewhere and the right manager could unlock it.

The others you've mentioned just aren't Championship quality. I think I've played against better players than De Neve at an amateur level.

We have signed a lot of crap from lesser leagues that you would think would be desperate to make a name for themselves.

Baradji falls into the same category. More ability than the others but no sign of desperation to give his all and really show what hes about.

Absolutely, genuinely didn't notice him at all on Tuesday night.

The epitome of lazy, but has ability, so maybe it's an attitude problem.

Tavares however similar category but absolutely no ability.

Just seen a media post that Kargbo had reposted about "The workplace and what it was like before and how the reset with new colleagues who are enthusiastic but don't know how it works here" (paraphrased).

On Tiktok and Instagram but I'm not technical enough to post on here 🙄

Not that I rate him, but what is supposedly wrong with Kargbo and when is he due back?.

Seems to have been out forever.

This was end of October......

"Winger Augustus Kargbo will not return until early 2026.

"He came back from the national team with a dead leg. He played at Coventry with this discomfort and against Sheffield United," Ismael added.

"He was complaining and so we did a scan on Wednesday. He had an injury and that will rule him out for at least 12 weeks. It was very tough for us to deal with that situation again.

"It's a tear when he got kicked which caused the dead leg. In an area where you can't run or sprint. It's very bad news for him and for us.

When does the window close?

Think there's a huge decision to make on Valerian.

If they're not getting rid, then they need to sell Ribeiro and Pickering.

If they are getting rid they'll need to sell a hell of a lot of shite:

  • Sell McLaughlin
  • Sell Tavares
  • Terminate Cachin loan
  • Sell De Neve
  • Sell Kargbo

Don't think a decision will be taken until the window has closed or almost closed on Tuesday 2 Feb - and we know why!

Think there's so much dross that needs removing including Forshaw, Henriksson and probably Baradji.  Problem is that's almost a full team and illustrates, IMO, just how abysmal our signings have been.  Further problem is who will buy such players!?!?

Still think one or more of Alebiosu, Cantwell and Tronstad will go through the exit door.

In most likelihood, this season's calamitous player trading will at worse relegate us or at best set us back 2 or 3 seasons.

Again not that he's great but......

From that, it appears we played him twice when he had a serious injury?

All these injuries are "bad luck" though of course.

12 weeks is up now so should be back any time as well according to them.

That’s why they were playing in the “ lesser leagues “.

I just think he struggles with Championship football and the high press Ismael tactics were everybody except Yuki is blowing out their arse after 20 mins.

Maybe not the right thread, but that Valentin Joseph looks some talent. Just seen his four goals v Coventry. Need to get him tied down long term before the big clubs come sniffing.

I've asked Elliott about 100 times if he's signed a pro deal, purely down to the fact he's been banging in the goals whilst Dlamini doesn't score. So my assumption is that Valentin Joseph won't be signing a pro deal.

It says a lot about how short the squad is and the shit that has gone on over 15 years. That a kid doing well for the under 18s not then instantly being chucked into the first team makes anyone suggest that it must be contractual.

Any other club, no one asks that question. The next step would be to try and replicate in the under 21s regularly.

Nixon the Rovers salesman will be advertising him soon to alert the high profile clubs.

Pretty sure he's banging them in the for under 21s.

Find it quite odd Dlamini is getting minutes ahead of better academy players

With a club with such limited budgets in terms of transfer fees and wages, it would make total sense to get the likes of Joseph, Powell, Pratt, Litherland & Atcheson signed up to long term contracts. Put bonuses in for first team appearances etc to make it appealing.

I know once a players head is turned then loyalty goes out the window, but at least we can be in a position to demand a decent fee.

Who is even in charge of contracts nowadays?
