TommyRovers Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I expected more. This will be brushed under the carpet by the club, again. The appetite for protest in our fanbase is low. This is the status quo for Rovers. It's been 15 years. Most bad owners don't last anywhere near that long. 5 Quote
rovers11 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Looks a similar size crowd to usual from photos on X Quote
Blackpool_Rover Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Boycott hasn’t worked. Blackburn stand not as busy as usual but on the whole I’d say there’s hardly any difference. Too many people against it 1 Quote
CD_93 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Completely ineffectual, unfortunately for us all. 2 Quote
roverandout Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Making me sick watching it now. I feel like turning it off 1 Quote

Of course it won't bother the owners financially but the people in charge of the club will have to answer to them and it's a bug two fingers up to them from a large chunk of the remaining hardcore fanbase. 'We see you and we hold you in the same contempt you hold us'. That's what it's about. Shouldn't really need explaining though should it. Nothing to do with having my head in the sand but if you think any bosses at Rovers care anything about Rovers then you’re delusional, Venkys won’t care about any boycott! Rudy won’t be bothered, Pasha won’t be bothered. None of them care enough Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Whether its considered a success or not, an official boycott was something worth trying. The more important thing is that after this game, it doesn't go all quiet for weeks before another plan of action. 2 Quote
Tomphil2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It's lower than usual and don't forget thousands were already staying away, there's less in there than Millwall for sure. Mates lad stewards there but wasn't needed today and he said they were expecting an early cup game type crowd of about 6k. Seems about right so people crying it hasn't worked are getting upset over nothing, there'd normally be 11/12k home fans for this. 3 Quote
bobbybrfc Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago From the pics and others I have seen from messages, I'd guess 2k (max) in BBE, 3K in JW, 1.5K in Riverside Quote

Guy N. Cognito Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Rovers have never historically been a club with an ultras culture, so a mass boycott was never likely. The average fan will fall into two camps: they will either walk away because it's not enjoyable (as evidenced by our plummeting attendances), or they will resign themselves to the status quo and keep turning up out of habit, obligation or routine. 2 Quote

But it’s not going to work…..those that stayed away should be outside the ground, protesting, banners, making noise not sat at home watching tele……badly planned Quote
bob fleming Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It looks a lower gate than normal. I’m not sure what more anyone could hope for. 9k season ticket holders? I reckon the real gate will be below that. Don’t forget Wednesday’s boycotts started only when they stopped paying wages. Quote
Riverside under the drip Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think you have to factor in the demographics of each stand. Going to be very stereotypical here but the JW Stand is for the older, well-to-do and for families. The Riverside is again for older fans and some casual fans who want a cheaper ticket for various reasons. The hardcore support, who may or may not boycott, are in the BBE. The empty seats would always appear there in larger numbers. Although I'm sat at home now, my mum is there for all the reasons discussed previously. Aside from a dozen or so long-standing fans in the block and rows around us, the only people close tend to be one-offs plus a couple of extended families where only one person would be even slightly aware of any issues beyond watching a game of football. In short, the boycott looks as I would expect a decent effort to look like... 2 Quote
Penwortham Blue Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago From those pictures, and despite the very low recent gates, it is clear that the boycott has been pretty effective, looks very, very sparse. 3 Quote
