Not shooting the messenger if we'd had VAR in the Championship on Saturday we'd have probably have pulled it back to 2-1 from the penalty spot and might have been playing for a period against ten after the elbow on Cantwell.

Hardly a given we'd have got anything out of the game seeing as we didnt even register a shot on target in the 90 mins otherwise.

He's really floundering isnt he? No idea at all how to turn it round. Just blame bad luck/officials etc.

Could have played 11 v 8 and wouldn’t have been in that match.

We know there's some atrocious refereeing in the Championship, but a decent team would put the result beyond doubt, with a few goals.

Football isnt all about physical attributes, but Cashin seeming to be both slow and relatively small is a big hurdle to get over.

Its very puzzling as we brought in Pratt as we thought Riberio and Pickering were too small and slow for LCB but then have pulled in Cashin.

Feels like maybe we have knee jerked to bring in experience, but not fully considered the implications.

Still maintain we might get a result tonight just to give us that breather as that what has seemed to happen so far this season, before then going on lose our next few.

I completely disagree.

I'd say when the chips are down we can't get any sort of result under VI whatsoever. Right from the moment he very first walked into the Club.

We saw it last season with the failure to make the playoffs and we're seeing it now that things are getting tighter and tighter.

One win in twelve and two goals in seven hundred and odd minutes. That's not really indicative of a team that can pull out the odd result when needed.

Ismael's post-match bingo card will be incredibly straightforward tonight. It will consist of:

  • "VAR"
  • "Referee"
  • "Penalty"
  • "Weather"
  • "Not worried"

"Players to come back"

"The data says we should be 8th"

Yet despite that we have only spent 3 match days in the bottom 3 all season, and haven't been in there for the past 3 months.

We have also only lost 4 of our last 12.

Lets see what happens.

Apart from Sheffield Wednesday, absolutely nothing is cut and dry in this league, and it would be pretty foolish to suggest otherwise.

2 years ago this whole board was convinced we would go down as the season went on, yet we ever entered the bottom 3 once.

Should we end up in the bottom 3 by tomorrow night, then I'm ready to concede that that might be that.

Just had a look who the ref is for tonight. Scheduled to be Anthony Backhouse. Refereed us twice before this season. 3-0 loss to Charlton & 2-1 loss to Bradford.

Third time lucky?
