Thought Broughton was an absolute disaster and that if we'd only appointed a proper experienced DOF at the time to help Thomasson instead of an over promoted Academy Head we could have scraped over the line.

3 strikers that never scored a goal between them, Ennis, Telalovic, Hirst, another window the majority of the budget spent on Wahlsted. Those are the key ones that spring to mind, he signed a lot of other dross as well.

Also oversaw the O 'Brien/Brierley/ and Mcguire debacles as DOF in successive windows. Rightly or wrongly took responsibility for the first of those 2 windows and assured everyone it wouldnt happen again.

Pretty much the same as now really just over promoting people because in the short term it's cheaper.

You'd think they'd learn from the Kean episode and a few others like Agnew etc but no the need for someone cheap who toes the line drives everything.

Broughton was never tame though, certainly not once he got his feet under the table but him telling them what to do with the Wharton money was him signing his death warrant imo.

Gudjohnsen simply has to start. I don’t care if he’s not fully fit or can only give 60 mins - he quite literally is the only player in the whole squad who has the slightest inkling as to where the back of the net is. Stop fannying about with Ohashi on his own - it hasn’t and won’t ever work.

People may not agree but I think whist he was here, he was just as "aligned" as Ismael.

imo was fully committed to the idea of turning us into a Championship version of Crewe Alexandra. When Wharton was sold, write a report recommending keep a bit, spend a bit, keep another bit in reserve. (why on the last bit?)

Like a rubbish player who suddenly turns into Pele following a prolonged spell in the treatment room, it shows how bad things are now when some people are lamenting the loss of complete blaggers like Waggott and Broughton.

This is where I think 442 or 433 is the best option.

I saw enough from Afolayon yesterday to suggest that he might have a bit of an X Factor. I just hope he is able to start games soon.

Gudjohnsen and Jorgensen up front for me. Ohashi off the bench to harass tired defenders.

look at the pace of our play, it’s so slow. I believe this to be because the players are so focussed on completing the low order tasks like control, etc they don’t have the speed of thought/capacity to move the ball any quicker

Afolayan looks like he is a proper baller who if used correctly could be an asset. Not scared of taking players on and may be able to provide the service our non firing strikers require.

Anyone who has ever played football past the age of 12 knows that you don’t fanny about and sub a central defender in the middle of a game unless he’s injured. It’s very hard to come into that position cold while a game is in full bloom, and it makes the team highly vulnerable. My point is, either Carter plays the full 90 minutes or he keeps building stamina until he’s ready, Norwich first goal yesterday was a direct result of subbing him after 60.

Also, did everyone forget how ineffective Morishita was playing on the wing at the start of the season before Ismael switched formation and moved him in centrally? With the current formation he should play in Cantwell’s position or not at all.

Given that Alibiosu was not really succeeding on the wing i would have either moved Miller inside och pulled Alibiosu to RB. Alternatively bring on Pickering and shift Cashin and McClough to CBs

That absolutely has to be the approach for QPR. The only chance of getting a desperately needed win is to score first. That NEVER looked like happening at Norwich.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair on Alebiosu, didn't we have 12 crosses in the first half or something like that, with 0 people getting on the end of them?

He could be the best winger in the world but if we're only going to commit Ohashi to the box we might as well not bother.

It wasn't meant as a direct criticism of Alebiosu - merely that it wasn't actually proving effective. My choice would have been to move Cashin inside, remove Morishta along with Carter and bring on Pickering and Gudjohnsen. Seems that Pickering is not an option hence pull Alebiosu to RB but still encourage him to get forward when possible.

Easy in hindsight but it putting on O Riordan for Carter only weakened us (not having a go at O Riordan either) rather than taking Carter being a catalyst for a slight change and go for all 3 points proactively before Norwich could do exactly that...
