Went to Sofia - no ticket

Now I'm not one of them, but, it seems as though some of these fans queued this morning only to be told no tickets had been put aside for them.

I was under the impression that they were guaranteed one. It's up to the board now to clarify whether or not this was the case. If it was - what are they going to do about it?

Well, I put the postal application in, but from my conversation with the Ticket Office, I dont appear to have got any of them, just have to wait to see if they do process any of them.

Did get Southampton tickets though.

I'd feel sorry for anyone who went to Sofia, but was still unable to get a Celtic ticket.

Considering the quite generous allocation of tickets for the Darwen End that Rovers have set aside for Celtic fans, it's a shame that Celtic didn't reciprocate the gesture by allowing a few more tickets for Rovers fans at Celtic Park.

Former Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas has described Blackburn as a "Small town club" and has said that he wished Celtic were playing a bigger, more glamorous English club.

Unfortunately that sort of viewpoint seems to have prevailed with the powers that be at Celtic - who have given us our meagre ticket allocation.

P.S  SteB, I've put your £10 voucher in the post today. Hope your successful with the postal application for tickets.

SteB, you have to get a ticket.  It was stated that those season ticket holders that went to Sofia were guaranteed a ticket, therefore you, and Jordan etc have to have one.

I’m sure for all matches like this there are a number of tickets kept aside for cock ups etc.  As they won’t be able to take away someone else’s ticket yet at the same time they can’t go against their word.

I'm just figuring that it might take time to process the applications, but surely not that long.  If they havent opened the envelopes, how do they know how many tickets are needed (I put mine on the front though)...  Perhaps there might be a few tickets left over, I don't know.

Wouldnt have been worried, but others who applied by post already know about how many they are getting.

posted this on the other thread but it might of been relevent here -

First of all i'd like to say that everyone who went to Sofia should of been guarenteed a Celtic ticket.

But as far as i recall. there was NOTHING in the programme that said this would be the case, there is NOTHING on the official site that said this would be the case, he only place we heard about it was from a message Lee posted on this message board. Or have i missed something  ???

I don't know Mark, but I suspect, the club deliberatley  let it be known, via this board (perhaps also on the official MB), that ALL who went to Sofia - ST or non ST - would get a ticket if they made a postal application. This is hardly a statement which could have gone in the programme or on Rovervision. This the impression I and many others had.

All ST holders have priority for cup games, away league games etc. - it's a part of the deal when you buy the ST and one of the benefits the club sells to the supporter.

Therefore if the club want to do the morally correct thing - putting ALL who travelled to Sofia ahead of the rest of us - they have to be extremley careful how it is done. No one on the MB is arguing about the correctness of the decision but I suspect a statement in the programme or on Roversion would have caused more than the odd letter of complaint to JW.

AESF - while in the queue for tickets, the two lads behind us were talking to John Williams. Rovers were offered 7000+ tickets or 2900. Rovers took the 2700.

Steb stop worrying me

I think you will have got your ticket

Speaking to the Ticket office on Saturday they said we where guarranteed them as long as we handed them in on Saturday with voucher P. We put ours in x5 and they asked us if we wanted them posted or if we wanted to collect. We opted for the collection even had to leave telephone number name of who was collecting and date of collection - one of the lads is going down Friday, so I do hope you are wrong and have been mis-informed

Now if there has been a cock up the ticket office better start preparing for some major backlash and I mean major.

We know about Jordan so far, anyone else?

After much progress in recent years I find it very dispiriting how far out of touch the Club have been with the mood of the fans in relation to this tie.

Never better typified by the assertion that the 2800 allocation requested would prove to be sufficient given the tie was on TV etc.

Yeah, what we need is someone to act as a public spokesman for the fans in the press to let the Rovers know how strong the feeling is about this. Anyone know who could achieve this  :<img src=:'>  :<img src=:'>

I handed in my envelope with cheque, stubs and letter. This was given to Tom Finn's secretary before the game in the Jack Walker stand entrance. Tom Finn informed us we would definately get tickets (unrestricted view)

If I do not get my ticket I will personally go down to Ewood and refuse to move until I get one.

I went to Sofia and spent hundreds of pounds to do so. It would be more than just 'unfortunate' if I was to miss out.

I went down on Saturday, handed in my voucher, showed them my Sofia ticket, they took my details and I requested they send it by secure post as I live in Warrington so cant make it to the ticket office to pick them up.

No problem.

If they dont turn up I will sue their ass !

I got a call at 4:30 yesterday from the club to tell me my tickets are ready for collection, and didn't hand in an envelope or anything, just the voucher, Bully for me but I also have two friends who are both season ticket holders and both went to Sofia and they haven't got tickets, despite travelling to most games home and away.

They are both out of the country, one on holiday and one on business, but he missed the Newcastle game and so couldn't hand his application in (Would have helped if he had known anything about the postal applications!)

Tried to phone all day Monday and couldn't get through, shambolic that the club can't look after 500 fans who spent over £500 each to cheer them on in Bulgaria. I'm sure many of you will recognise and know the two lads but they (like Jordan) are feeling severely let down by the club at the moment.
