  1. Which is why TM’s journey was so ludicrous.
  2. If we'd just lost Rothwell, Lenihan and Nyambe I'd be inclined to agree with you, but we haven't. I'd say we were more dependent on Van Hecke and Diaz 2021 than any of those three.
  3. Spend big on a “project” in Brereton, put Ayala on top wages, spend £5m on Gallagher and then give him a new contract. Give various useless players new contracts over the years and don’t play them. Don’t give contracts to players worth something and let them walk away for nothing… But whatever you do, DON’T BREAK THE WAGE STRUCtURE!!!! Waste money but don’t waste money, the Venky motto.
  4. The same Sheffield United whose CEO has been desperately slashing their wage bill.
  5. I'm surprised that some people are fine with this and expecting youth players to step up. I've seen some people saying even if there's a last minute sale of Brereton we'll be fine because Markanday is going to be a superstar.
  6. It's a terrible start to what's been rumoured to be a big week. I hope by weekend it's looking more positive or all of GB's words will just seem like more hot air.
  7. You can't justify losing out on this one. The lad is 23 year old and has worked with our manager. Venkys want to buy quality young players and sell on for a profit so it fits the transfer strategy perfectly. You break the bank for that kind of signing as it'll reap rewards later. Although they have parachute payments, it's still Sheffield Utd so they won't be offering huge wages. Especially as their CEO has recently said he doesn't want high earners at the club and has just got rid of them all. Someone f**** up somewhere but it's no surprise. Same old.
  8. And Van Hecke, Khadra, and a striker. Edit: if we're doing wishlists, get someone to replace Pickering too.
  9. If he can stay fit, Phil Jones would be a top player in this division.
  10. Agreed. If a transfer link was posted I'd miss it due to all this. They've gone, yes it's idiotic, let's move on.
  11. Signing a player has replaced the slow burn of getting a manager in. Seeing good options being snapped up while everyone debates about bullshit. It could be that we're waiting for the Brereton money before anything can be spent.
  12. What's funny is that his plan A would have got them straight back up.
  13. Bit naive that.
  14. The other thing is that TM wouldn’t have bought a goalscorer with the money anyway.
  15. With Nyambe it’s about ability too (and Lenihan has also had his best season), but I’d rather us pay better new signings more in wages than a trio of underachievers. Rothwell should have gone in January. What a waste of money that was. It is very poor that we’re letting all three go for nothing though.
  16. Sod Lenihan, can we get Van Hecke back?
  17. Will the rest of the Championship be fearing the beard next season?
  18. Am I the only one who thinks Berget could do a job for us as an attacking midfielder?
  19. Have we learnt nothing from January?
  20. I’d prefer Glen over Derek and Agnew. Nothing outlandish about that. Only one of those had the best interests of the club at heart. He was working for nothing and was the only one putting a shift in.
  21. If we put it to a serious vote I'd be happy to put Glen as a DOF. He did a far better unpaid job than any of the overpaid chancers we had at the time.
  22. The one thing to counter this is that Pace and co are clearly a pack of dicks. Burnley fans can put their rose tinted specs on all they like, but that's a fact. They are getting by on other peoples money. They may do great next season but it'll catch up if Pace carries on the way he's started.
