  1. Here we go again................
  2. Tugay. Intelligent, skillfull, graceful, an absolute gentleman and fantastic servant to every club he has played for. It's hard to imagine ever seeing such an all round wonderful player at this club again. Fingers crossed.
  3. So did I Souness had no success at Rangers? Sure, and RFW has been moderately successful at OT.
  4. Brilliant day
  5. Good stuff Bob. Totally agree on Emerton - second name on the teamsheet at the moment.
  6. I have both fingers crossed. Wayne Bridge please. Bert is a better right back.
  7. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, so I support Glasgow Rangers as well as Rovers. Also have a soft spot for my local club Swindon Town. I don't feel as though that makes me any less of a loyal Rovers fan.
  8. My intention wasn't to single out Savage as a stand up guy, more than he's a member of the first team squad, and Neill shouldn't be. My point would've been made by saying "Tugay and Co.", "Gamst and Co.", or even "Matteo and Co.". Every captain we've had that has been transferred away has proven themselves - A. Good enough to be captain, and, B. Good enough to warrant a move to a higher level. Lucas Neill is neither of these, and never will be, except in his own mind.
  9. It's utterly embarrasing to have Neill as our captain. He's been a liability often this season (red cards, penalty misses, giving penalties away), and for some reason still seems to think he's too good for us! Not only should he not be captain, he shouldn't be in the team, the matchday squad or even allowed to train with Savage and co. We'll get nothing for him in the Summer anyway, stick him in with the kids and let him rot.
  10. I just got in but it was empty - doesn't seem right for 3:10pm on a matchday....
  11. I wonder if FLB knows Philipl is posting on his account....
  12. How has this got to 23 pages? He's gone, he's useless now, still some of us can't face up to that.
  13. I thought it was Garner - if it's not, where is he?
  14. Having lost 3-0 I dare say he'll get a recall fairly sharpish.
  15. Well, you do live in an open air prison.
  16. Good business, these free agent deals outside the window are often the shrewdest. Any chance of a decent free agent midfielder - Okocha for example?
  17. If we don't spend atleast £5m in January the club are selling us very badly short.
  18. We needed to strengthen midfield. Had we sold Kuqi even a few hours earlier we may have been able to do something. To sell him for such an inflated price with 1 minute of the window left is hugely frustrating - moreso than if we'd let him go for free!
  19. What good is £2.5m if we can't spend it. We've recouped way more this Summer than we've spent - at a time when strengthening was vital. It's a good deal but the timing of it for us is horrific.
  20. Absolutely Gordy - but you've got to move with the times. Boro have signed Woodgate and (probably) Huth. Bolton have Anelka. Villa have Petrov, not to mention O'Neill and prospect of further major cash injection. Newcastle have Duff and Martins. Portsmouth have Campbell, Glen Johnson and plenty more cash. West Ham have signed Tevez and Mascherano. Everton have signed Andy Johnson. We finished above all these teams last year, and they've all strengthened. We on the other hand have lost Bellamy and not improved anywhere else either. We're in great danger of being left behind, as tends to be the trend after every good season we have. If only we could build on these achievements, who knows where we could end up? For me, atleast, that explains the apathy.
  21. No you arent, I couldn't agree more.
  22. No no, blame it on Swindon.
  23. Doh. Good spot. I was thinking while I was typing about how similar my prediciton was to the Arsenal 4-1 home defeat. Hence Lee's snowstorm jibe!
  24. Chelsea will come out at breakneck speed, we'll be 4-0 down by half time. We'll pull one back in the second half. Rovers 1 Arsenal 4.
  25. Oh yes, that was a horrible horrible day. Up there with the winning goal already mentionef for Pompey the same season, and Fulham's 2nd in that ultimately fantastic Easter Monday game at Loftus Road. 2-1 down at half time we went in, 2 days after having been beaten at home by seemingly doomed Leeds. Horrible horrible horrible.
