Absolutely. I for one was not bashing him or the Norwegian contingent. But let's not get too carried away. After all Emerton started the season like a house on fire and hasn't sustained that form. Let's just accept that Hughes is getting to know the team he needs to pick but it is a squad game and we need all to play their part. -

Better still a Dingle defender to get the final touch!!! -
Gonna have my Under 10's team practising corners like MGP's for a month.
-
I still shudder when I recall the house brick that landed just in front of me as I walked down the back of the Longside, thrown by some dimwit from the other side of the wall.
-
Think Nelsen is a cert to play on what we've seen so far. Can't Hughes come out of retirement too?
-
Actually the Under 10's team I coach are free that weekend. Give them a bit of practice before they play in the Rovers tournament down at Brockhall in March
-
Left wing, shouldn't be a problem even though I'm getting on a bit
-
But then again, its only the Cup. Premiership has to be our priority. Can see us putting out a weakened side AND STILL WINNING
-
Absolutely
-
Considering the lack of interest in the Cup matches so far, priority has to be given to those who attended the matches against Colchester and Cardiff. I'll be well p****d off if I and my mates who travelled over from Yorkshire for these Cup games don't get tickets.

Ferguson Hands in Transfer Request

Whether he is worth £6m or not Rangers have a bl**dy cheek trying to get him for anything less. The guy is at the peak of his playing career and is still a valuable asset to Rovers. (As seen when he was missing on Monday night). This whole episode stinks -
Spot on Izzi. We can't live on past glories. OK they're good memories but it's the future that we should look to.

Just watched the WBA game v Liverpool this evening and was quite impressed with the songs that the Liverpool fans were singing, and not a drummer in sight. It's time some of the BBE composers got together and came up with some appropriate ditties -

One defeat in 7 and that to scabby tottenham. hardly disastrous form. Neverthless, now that we seem to have sorted the defence out we need to start turning some of the chances into goals. God knows how we do it but thats what Hughes is paid for. Surely we can't be that much worse than Everton, oh of course they've got Lee Carsley. -

Lucas neill needs to visit an optician. In the second half he let a ball run out of play when it had clearly come off a Rovers player. If I remember rightly he did the same in the Liverpool match. Surely if he's in any doubt he should play the ball. -
Stewarding and the club/fan relationship

No, I don't just object to scousers.. in fact some of my best friends are scousers. So what was the problem? -
There are clearly a few people on this site who are disappointed that MGP is not in the team and of course its a shame that, having had such great expectations of him when he first arrived, we haven't seen them fulfilled. But frankly we are in a desperate situation and we have to trust that Hughes and the staff are doing everything to try to put it right. Yesterday we saw some green shoots of what may prove to be a lasting recovery in our fortunes. I'm sure that MGP will figure in the team at some point but maybe now is not the right time. If there are financial reasons for not wanting to play him then that is not fair on the lad himself. I hope that is not the case. We clearly have a much better of getting our money back for him (if and when he leaves) if he has made a name for himself in the Premiership and not just for Norway.

Were they causing you a problem? Or do you just object to scousers? -

Must admit came away from the ground with the same view. Whislt I always enjoy going to matches I am seriously beginning to wonder whether it is worth the time and effort attending such cup ties. A 2/3 empty stadium, key players being rested, opposition who we should be steamrollering but don't and generally a lack of enthusiasm for this competition. On the plus side I think we saw a fantastic performance from Brett Emerton who is playing like a man possessed. Well done Brett -

Via huddersfield!!!! This debate is pointless because we all know that the only thing that will bring the crowds in, is success on the pitch. Then even those who say they can't fork out will somehow manage to raid their piggy banks once a fortnight. -
Give the lad a break, he's played 3 games so far and we've only lost 1 of them. He needs encouragement, not criticism, and hopefully he will adjust to life in the Premiership. We need a squad of good players and I don't think Souness's judgment has been too bad to date.
-
Maybe not the best defender but going forward he was great. John Bailey for me. Oh forgot to mention he was a good friend of mine, many a good Sat night was had down at the Lodestar?

As player manager I hope!!!!
