  1. It was very moving. Paul Stewart in particular has been hit so hard by it, it’s awful watching it.
  2. Armstrong has to get up and down, but Rhodes doesn’t? Rhodes goals earn points but Arma’s don’t? Truth is a team will win more games when all 11 contribute with hard work and technique, than when only 10 do it.
  3. 🙂 You’re right of course Stuart. A Centre forward HAS to contribute to the team game, he has to play his part in the overall team performance. If he can’t do that he won’t succeed in today’s game. Im sure I used to argue that with you - and you used to say a centre forward only needs to score goals - and where would the goals come from without him?
  4. They have someone who can make decisions? Just makes our set up even more exasperating.
  5. I think some people are getting the wrong end of what I’m saying about our style of play. All I’m trying say is that some of the passing and movement is technically very good and I stand by that. It is good to see a rovers team try to play the passing game from the back. There’s enough criticism from the fans when we’re playing long ball after long ball. This is turgid stuff though. We are stereotyped, nothing changes from one minute, to one game, to one week. It’s hopeless stuff I agree. Nor do I believe Mowbray can develop us beyond where it’s at now. Hope that clears things up a bit.
  6. Cowards football? Not sure about that. TBH some of the passing and movement is excellent, but as everyone knows Mowbray has changed to that style of play - but doesn’t know, or hasn’t built a squad - that can turn that into winning football. His comments in the press suggest that he’s just hoping things will change. To him there’s not much wrong. 90% of it is good, which it might be, but can he turn this squad, with this current way of playing, into a team that can score much more freely? For me that’s easy - No, he can’t. Could he replace the players we lose over the closed season, continue with this style, add some goal scoring threat on top and develop it into a successful team? Again, no I don’t think he could. I can’t see how he can succeed. I don’t think he has the answers.
  7. I’ve also been saying we are a club without a genuine centre forward on the books.
  8. It’s also noticeable that many of the Rovers fans on Twitter who used to take the piss out of those fans who wanted Mowbray out, have now quietly changed tack. They are mostly fed up with the football and quickly falling out of love with the club. Anyone listening Rovers?
  9. "I hear every week from other managers how good our team is, but generally that is on the back of a 1-0 defeat.” TM thinks we’re playing really well, that’s obvious. That’s a big problem for him, for the players and for us. Losing football isn’t good football. Someone needs a big rethink here.
  10. You could say, if you’re not worried about scoring goals, this is really good.
  11. Who’s the worst team then - us or them?
  12. Team of midgets. Should take them on at limbo dancing.
  13. Apart from Armstrong, who else even resembles a goal scorer?
  14. How long before they realise we have nothing up front and decide to have a go themselves?
  15. We’re in agreement about all of this Rev. I would just add this. The lower down the leagues we fall, the more the academy will produce for the first team. It’s not just down to improvements - or otherwise - in the academies performance.
  16. Changed it for you Matt. - and even then, for many lapsed fans it won’t rekindle their interest.
  17. For goodness sake leave the argument about who caused Ducks injury alone. Nobody caused his injury. If anyone had thought his left ACL was in danger, I’m certain he wouldn’t have played. It’s not doing any good going on about it on here. Everybody feels absolutely gutted for the lad. I’ve not really got the heart to discuss the game after Dacky’s injury, suffice to say the penalty incidents can be talked about for ever, but the truth is we weren’t good enough to score ourselves and we were second best all over the park AGAIN. Alter that, become the better team on a more consistent level and we can start complaining about the referees with a bit more justification.
  18. This is a superb England side without any perceivable weakness. Enjoy it while we have it. It won’t get any better than this.
  19. Don’t have any problem with work rate, but the team has no shape, no obvious pattern of play. Again, we haven’t got a sharp end to the team, we don’t have a centre forward. We are blunt up top. Best team won for sure.
  20. Nobody is saying we shouldn’t bring youth through. They should supplement the first team, not totally replace it. Venkys sold an entire Premier League squad in order to replace it with our own youngsters to sell on and invest the proceeds in the first team - 11 years ago.
