The biggest challenge for him stepping up to a senior job would be he would be managing players who are paid more and have had more success and arguably better careers than him. They are still getting parachute payments and I have heard no mention they are under financial pressure. Sounds like the managers choice about who left. Rhodes was on 40,000 here. He is on 25,000, possibly more, but not far off it either way.

Could be close enough to it. Let's say Brereton is on 10 grand and Celina is on 25 grand. That's 15 extra per week, so 15,000 x 52 weeks equals 780,000 more per season. It's plausible. There was plenty of competition for Celina and as such his wages would be higher than you might expect. He left man city and Swansea have that sweet parachute money.
