Current Squad - Is it overrated?
Bigdoggsteel replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I think it's easy to say that now and be negative, but a lot of , if not all the blame, lies with the manager for the under achieving. Really though, have Cardiff or Barnsley better squads than us? @roversfan99 Didn't you make the case not so long ago that we have a better squad than Boro? -
I'm in a number of whatsapp groups with friends who support other clubs. There are many funny Ole and Klopp memes and video's that do the rounds, to be wheeled out at certain opportunities. What funny Rovers ones are there? What comes to my mind are the one with Danny Graham on the phone asking if you want goals. Then there is the Mowbray groundhog day meme. What others have people come across? Please share here. I could do with a laugh.

Mowbrays Successor

Good thing he is off the list so.... Hopefully -
If you are only going to comment accusing me of attacking the golden boy, then just don't bother, have heard it all before. Either engage on the facts, or don't waste everyone's time. So this is interesting. So "only" 30 shots more than the next player now. I think the stats here that back up what a lot of us have noticed are the lack of assists compared to other strikers on the list and also the goal conversion percentage. His shot accuracy is pretty good, but that doesn't equate to more goals from his many additional shots. I think it certainly debunks @chaddyroversassertion that he is a better finisher than Rhodes. If Rhodes had 106 shots in a season, with 60% hitting the target , he would score about 40 goals. I'm talking prime Rhodes here. Rovers v Bristol City - 17/03/21

The games Mowbray refers to "at the start" were Wycombe and Coventry. 2 promoted teams who I would day were naïve in their approach to playing against us and the league in general. It's outrageous that Mowbray can just get away with spouting it game after game unchallenged. The chances of us hammering anyone now look fairly non-existent. Mowbray out -

I've worked in HR a good while now and I have seen it from managers. Excuse culture also known as a covering your arse culture. Very toxic and leads to serious unprodutivesness because the team know they can get away without giving their best. Can see it a mile away here now -
Wait til he starts giving his post season post-mortum. "Covid" "Injuries" "Most possesion" "How good we were at the start" "Dack injury" "Journey" "Other managers think we are great" Most of which other managers dealt with, with smaller budgets and less time at their clubs. Mowbray out

Looking at the players Instagram's, I wonder do they get sick of writing "not the result we deserved" after every game? Mowbrays excuse culture deeply ingrained in the club now. They genuinely think they have been hard done by and conspired against this season. -
How can anyone back him at this stage? The only fear would be they make a terrible appointment, but could anyone really be worse at this stage? I don't think so We could be relegated yet. Classic Venkys. Idiots

Isn't it mental that he hasn't been sacked? I wonder what is he thinking. Surely he knows the game is up ,or f**kin does he -

I got rid of sky too 🤣 I think I need a break from football now. No enjoyment left for me. Supporting Blackburn and having Ireland as an international team would do that to a man..I deserve a medal. -

I didn't even pay to watch this..couldn't be arsed. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much. It's just not worth watching, unfortunately -
I'd say Rothwell was Mowbrays. Gallagher and Holtby too

Embarassing

What a blow this is. Any hope of us selling him for circa 20 million also gone now you would imagine. All we can hope is he comes back and contributes to the team
-
He has had opportunities. I for one have given up on him ever being consistent.

A win for either team last game will put a bit of gloss on what has been a disappointing campaign. How are Wales where they are? Ireland should have bet them with 14 for most of the game, if not for really avoidable errors
