  1. The luton game is here by the way https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/football/match/716858/blackburn-luton you can also see the other scores updated as quick as we get them, match stats during the game and a whole bunch of other stuff.
  2. Some ... great ... ideas there but no-ones earned those internet points. If you look at the Match Center there's a new tab for all matches that have finished, and for 24 hours after a game is finished you'll be able to vote on players performance and award them a mark out of 10. It's the first time it's been used in anger so I'd expect a few hiccoughs for the Luton game, but either send any errors to admin@brfcs.com or raise a question in the question thread.
  3. It's nearly a couple of months now since BRFCS.com was relaunched, to coincide with the start of the new season. Rovers survived transfer deadline day without any signings and we survived the busiest day yet since we took over without any outages ... I think we win that one. Looking at the stats that we have available it's clear that most users have the forum part of the site bookmarked and drop straight in on the forum without visiting the front page, and to be fair that's what we expected but it does mean you might miss some of the stuff on the front page so here's a little summary. Every Friday we post a collection of the *ahem* best tweets of the week, mostly amusing but some are touching or uplifting. Here's last weeks This Week on Twitter, Delap's Derbies have made their way from Twitter to BRFCS, the amazing Blackburn Roverseas has returned with his fantastic match previews and more on Youtube. There's also the Match Center where you can see the upcoming fixtures and past results. The individual games have team sheets, match time lines, past meetings between the clubs and scores from all the other games that effect Rovers. We're launching a new feature here before the Luton game ... 12 shiny internet points for anyone who can guess what it is.
  4. Has anyone played the game where you create a play list of 100 songs, from 100 different artists? Each artist can appear once, but solo artists can appear alongside any bands they're in. Took me almost a week putting this together. Here's mine created a couple of years ago:
  5. Isn't that what's happening now? Something has to change and attending the games is one of the few things fans have at our disposal.
  6. It's a typical catch22 for us at the moment I think. Fans with an "entertainment budget", ie those who decide to come or not based on the quality of the product the same way they decide to go and watch a film or concert. I agree with Gav that we need someone with vision and ambition, but a new owner would still be hamstrung by FFP. It reminds me of that scene from Bill & Ted: Tony: While I agree that in time our team will me most triumphant, The truth is Blackburn Rovers will never be a super club till we get better players. Steve: Yes, Tony, But I do not believe we will get better players until we are free from FFP Tony: Steve, it's pointless having better players if we don't have any fans Steve: Well, how can we get more fans till we get better players? Tony: and that is why we need to be free from FFP https://media1.giphy.com/media/l46CDHTqbmnGZyxKo/200.gif Attending games is one thing fans could do to try and break the stalemate we're in at the moment. Yes, it's not the complete answer but it's something we could do to break the cycle. Maybe pick a game as a one off & just see how many we could encourage to go, no deals, no gimmicks, just as many fans as possible.
  7. Good spot, thanks @Hasta I'll get that fixed.
  8. Given that we always seem to be a Steve Waggot priced half time pie & a pint away from breaching the FFP rules, do you think a mass return to Ewood by fans would help, increasing gate receipts would ease some of the pressure?
  9. I get the impression there's not many people there to do the work at the moment, I've run different numbers for different things the past few weeks and got the same person pretty much every time.
  10. No, mine's STILL not back from the training ground 😞
  11. The season ticket thing will likely be a tax thing. HMRC will see it as a benefit like a company car or free gym membership and want some tax for it.
  12. Can you DM me his email address I'll send him my ideas above.
  13. He's done a very poor job as CEO since he took the job. His approach to making money seems to be either sell it off or increase the price. It's like he's never heard of the price elasticity of demand! There's been no effort made to capitalise on the return of fans to football, no special offers, other than the feeble "Back to Live" ... campaign? Can you call a few social media posts a campaign? There should have been cut price tickets to the first 10 games, which would have seen an increase in numbers, especially given the fact we haven't had an awful start to the season. I would have made the 1st home game a "pay what you like" game, ensuring a good crowd and boosting the revenue from concessions. (Stats show that most people still pay the full price, and the increase in sales more than makes up for those that don't.) Even just the novelty of it would have brought people in. There's been no attempt to cash in on Breretonmania except a couple of piss poor t shirts in the club shop. With travel restrictions like they are it's hard to arrange a friendly but something could have been done, we didn't even have Chilean national shirts in the club shop! I would have liked to have seen a novel approach to season tickets too, rebranding them more like the "all you can eat" offers from cinemas where you get to as many films as you like. Make the season tickets a flat price (less than what they are now) and if you want to go in the posh seats you pay an upgrade per game. The new ticketing system is a disaster, I've not been able to buy a single ticket through it yet. First it said tickets were all sold out, then it kept them on sale to season ticket holders longer than it should and now it won't accept my credit card, even when I ring up and use the same one, it accepts that.

Just a quick update today to reflect the changes we told you about the other week.
  15. It's definitely on the list, we plan to migrate to webp at some point in the future and probably use a source set to serve different versions for different devices, but at the moment our problem is sourcing royalty & copyright free images to use at a resolution that lets us do that 😞 Nerd mode off 😄
  16. I've made a small improvement @Eddie, but it's not pin sharp just yet, it's a balancing act between storage space for large images, page speed (the quicker the better as far as Google is concerned) and having sharp images.
  17. That, and I think they don't have much of a choice, the EFL will have signed a deal with Ticketmaster who now have a monopoly so don't care. The fact I can't buy my tickets online has no impact on them so they have no incentive to fix it or make it easier.
  18. It'll now let you through to choose which ticket types you want (after saying they're all £5 still) but now it won't accept any of my credit card details (I say any like I have loads ... I have 2) and I know it's eticketing (Ticketmaster) but it must be the way someone is configuring it because they sell way too many tickets and if this is the nonsense everyone was experiencing the on call engineers would be all over it. What kind of checkout experience takes you to the "Proceed to checkout" button, only to have you log in (fair enough) but then NOT redirect you back to the basket you were just trying to pay for?
  19. I'd go so far as to say there is no governance in football, it's better at a local level where it's largely run by volunteers than it is at a national or international level.
  20. We have a very similar feature on the site now too, unfortunately the stats don't look any better wherever you look at them: https://brfcs.com/magazine/football/match/716814/millwall-blackburn
  21. With all the money available in football, there’s no way it’s not bent, in all sorts of ways.
  22. Just spoke to Jennifer & there were about 500 sent down to the training ground for signing and so far 30 have come back, call back in a week or so was her advice.
  23. There was an email address passed around, but I tried that and didn't get any reply.
