  1. http://accringtonstanley.co.uk/2018/10/half-season-tickets-available-now/ Good plan. Market them as a Christmas present. Rovers will put theirs on sale 4pm Christmas Eve.
  2. Even worse, it was Waggott and Mowbray who started this debate by 'moaning' at the attendances. Unsall is confused.
  3. How did that happen with the blackout in place, or am I missing something?
  4. I realise you weren't making personal remarks. I wasn't responding as though you had. I was just giving specific examples of how people I know might respond next summer. You did make sweeping generalisations about people not supporting their club though. Agree with everything you say about SKY. I've never subscribed, partly due to cost, but also because I have a deep loathing for everything Murdoch stands for. The 'kick the Rovers' stuff is more to do with the apparent lack of understanding of the Rovers fanbase. Some of Waggott's comments about attendances have been plain ignorant.
  5. The discussion was about how the red-button may impact football attendances. If you recall it has been Waggott and Mowbray who have been 'moaning' in the press that attendances are lower than they expected.
  6. Are you saying you want cheaper season tickets or not? Your seem confused.
  7. Bloody hell, if you subscribe to that you'd be giving money to Leeds United via it's owner. They get enough off SKY! If the 2.45-5.15pm blackout law is only being enforced in England, Scotland & Montenegro then you'd imagine it won't last long. TV season tickets seem inevitable.
  8. I did include an 'undecided at present' option but it seems not to have appeared.
  9. This is probably worth a poll as it represents a huge shift in how people can watch Rovers. Rough estimates suggest about 10 of the 23 HOME games will not be at 3pm on a Saturday and so will be available for free on the Red-Button. That is an unprecedented number of 'Live on SKY' games for Rovers fans. Mr Waggott was in the LT flagging it up as a concern, and he claims he's always looking for feedback from supporter groups (and this forum is one) so if would be remiss of us not to oblige him. So, basically, will the Red-Button have any impact on whether you buy a Season-Ticket next season? The poll is anonymous. Mods - could you pin-it please?
  10. …to Burnley ??
  11. I don't have SKY so you are preaching to the converted. Committing financially to a ST however can be financially onerous. I nearly didn't bother this season due to being skint. I also didn't realise how many games were on the red button. My old man (a ST holder) has been supporting Rovers avidly in the flesh since the early 1950's. He struggles with mobility now (and the cold) so he missed a load of games last season. He didn't know about the red button either until early into this season. I doubt he'll have a ST next year as he has SKY. He'll just buy match tickets as and when (i.e. when it's not the dead of winter). If prices go up again and Waggott continues to insult my intelligence (it doesn't take much admittedly?) I may well join the as-and-when punters. I would save a lot of money. If I just did 10 games and another ten were on SKY I'd only miss 3 and save £160. Life is a bit more complicated than 'support your team' for some. If clubs are happy to take the SKY money, allow an unprecedented number of games to be shown live and yet still put admission prices up in half-empty stadiums then they can't complain when people stop bothering turning up. I may be wrong but the red-button is a bit of a game-changer (dreadful phrase). It wasn't well publicised or known about as far as I'm aware when ST renewals went out. Next spring/summer will be different. Everyone knows any game that isn't on at 3pm Saturday will be available for free on SKY. If you're struggling for money and have access to someone else's SKY it's a no-brainer (dreadful phrase No.2). The out of touch Mr Waggott needs to think very carefully about ticket prices next summer if he wants to, at the very least, retain current ST holders. Clubs should never see financial loyalty as a given.
  12. I meant please don't play Downing!
  13. That makes only 13 games you can't watch from the comfort of your own home/pub. That would cost £312 at £24 a ticket.
  14. If people can get the game on TV crowds will inevitably suffer. If you have got access to SKY's red button you'll probably be able to see 15 games (minimum) this season without going anywhere near a football ground. (I make it 6 already this season with the next two also available on SKY). 15 games is unprecedented. I doubt we were on that many times when we won the league (I may be very wrong on that). We certainly weren't in the Hughes/Souness/Allardyce eras. Half of those 15 games will be at home (Sheff U, Reading, Leeds and Villa have all been available on SKY so far??) That makes about 16 games at the most that you will have to go to Ewood to watch. That makes it £25 a game @ £400 a ST. There will come a time when it really isn't worth going unless you can't live without going to Ewood once a fortnight. If Waggott continues to raise prices across the board living without going to Ewood will become easier and easier.
  15. Ok boss. Let us all know when we can have an opinion again.
  16. Not Downing, please not Downing.
  17. 'attacking'!? SG just correctly pointed out he contradicted himself. I've been of the opinion from the start he's full of himself and corporate bullshit. Unless you know him personally and know different? He lacks the same kind of awareness of himself than he does about our historic gates...or you do about Kevin Hird. ? I played against Kevin Hird in the East Lancs League. I think he was playing for Kelbrook at the time, or some other god forbidden Burnley stronghold. He was still very good with the ball. I'm not sure any of that helps.?
  18. People on here are responding to specifics i.e. what Waggott has said. You are making sweeping statements. Could you be more specific about what you mean, with examples from the 'many fans on here'?
  19. It's been pretty clear from day one he's a big fan of himself.
  20. He has such a kind face too
  21. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/october/report-rovers-u18s-v-man-city-u18s/ Vilius Piliukaitis is real. He scored. I didn't realise he's actually signed. Did the club announce it? We've also got a Moroccan CB who couldn't play against City because he was on U'20 International duty. It's like the 90's again!
  22. We were linked with Roofe last season when he was struggling. He's certainly quick and a good footballer. According to all the reports he's back fit after a month out. So is Hernandez who is also a good player. Bloody International breaks. We'd have done them 4-0 if we'd played them Saturday gone. Fact. https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/it-s-been-a-long-four-weeks-kemar-roofe-ready-for-immense-leeds-united-away-day-1-9395954 It's going to be like a home game for them apparently, even though they are bringing less than 1% of the population of their city. Part-timers.
  23. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/16982555.steve-waggott-on-the-relationship-with-rovers-owners-venkys/?ref=mac Waggott on the owners. The building of trust with the current management seems to be a recurring theme. It's fair to say Venky's have been robbed blind by individuals previously at the club. However, the building of trust with the supporters from inside Ewood and in Pune is just as vital. It will be interesting to see what reception they get when they eventually return. I think they are banking on us being in the Prem when that happens.
