  1. Possibly, but we are back operating under FFP rules...but I'm not sure what that actually means in practise. Other clubs seem to spend far beyond their means.
  2. So are you in the hat for the 1st Round of the FA Cup? Is that the draw you referred to above?
  3. You in the 1st round proper then? I see a couple of ex-Rovers Urwin and O'Keefe play for you. Any good? edit: and Blakeman too?
  4. He's really not. Lenihan is a monster. Mulgrew is a lot more of a ball-playing CB.
  5. I wonder if the Luke Freeman money (£4m bid) was separate to the money spent on Brereton or if they spunked the lot. Or it always the agreement that more would be allocated for the Jan transfer window … to be agreed when they all meet up in November.
  6. Damien Duff after half a minute.
  7. This is what Sharpe said about BB t'other day on his Q&A:- "From what I understand, and reported at the time, this is a permanent move in all but name. So when January 1 comes around, Ben Brereton will become a permanent Rovers player. The fee, I'm pretty sure will be undisclosed, but the figures you've mentioned (£6m-£7m) are what I'm hearing, with incentives included. Just think both clubs have to be careful in what they say publicly about the deal, which is why there have been a few non-committal statements"
  8. Kean was a desperate proponent of that. How many 'entries into their box' was it again?
  9. is the fans forum just some kind of jollies club were fans get to mingle with important people at the club in exchange for never asking any difficult questions?
  10. He is indeed the steady hand, and captain fantastic. I even started a thread about him.....but he can't do the dirty stuff like Lenny can, and as Mowbray said last season, Lenihan allows us to play further up the pitch as a team because he has the pace to recover. Mulgrew doesn't. It's like comparing Hendry with Tony Gale or Keeley with David Mail, they both did different things. But in my opinion, over an extended period of time, we would miss Lenihan more as a team, for the reasons stated. Saying Mulgrew is the 'main man' isn't really an argument.
  11. If we're still up there by the time Mogga goes to India in November (?) he'll have a vey good case for saying 'you can trust me to deliver and trust me with your money', which seems to be what Venky's want assurances on (unsurprisingly).
  12. He's a wide midfielder/ winger normally. Used to play for Brentford and he always looked a very attacking player whenever I saw him. It would be like us playing Rothwell at FB.
  13. Another tough game, Swans have the 2nd best defensive record in the league...but don't score many. Celina, who Mogga tried to sign from Man City in the summer, chose them instead. Traitor. A draw would be a good result down there.
  14. I think some fans (understandably) may be getting a bit giddy. We are doing nothing different to what Millwall, Nobbers and Sheff Utd did last season. This doesn't make us guaranteed play-off favourites, or even contenders. We had our arses handed to us two weeks ago by one of the teams mentioned. Every game we've won has been by a single goal and we've only won 2 out of 7 at home. This is an incredibly tough league, as Bielsa is now finding out. Lose our next two tough league games and we could be back to lower mid-table. 5 points less and we'd be 19th. I worry about our strength in depth if we lose Lenny (criminally underrated by some), Dack or Graham for any length of time. Evans (new contract incoming hopefully) has been phenomenal since last season and would be sorely missed. The 'we should have gone up under Bowyer' mob never seem to learn? My own special brand of optimism will be available in all good retailers this Christmas.
  15. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/10/20/blackburn-show-promotion-potential-leeds-continue-falter/ "A Premier League promotion candidate was on display at Ewood Park on Saturday. So were Leeds United"
  16. All teams now played 13 and Rovers are only 4 points off the top.
  17. He also said he's just 19. I guess the idea is that he's Graham's long term replacement. Maybe he doesn't trust him yet up front. I didn't see the game so no idea what Mogga was thinking.
  18. Accy S, East Lancs 2nd biggest club, up to 4th after beating Posh away from home. .
  19. Our U16's played Valencia?
