  1. Care to share some examples of managers who can't organise a defence, who assembled a side that would consistently concede two or more goals and are kept in their jobs...then miraculously come good? We need those imaginary guys.
  2. How is it irrelevant when the fact is, his failed signings have brought the wolf back to the door? That we now have a disjointed mess of a side that he can't get the basics from and it can't be invested in further or improved. It is alarming how that can be so easily supported, excused and even championed.
  3. He drives me mad. In an interview he'll make the same point four or five times over but in different ways. But I suppose Mowbray is just a man. He's a human. He's a humanoid. He is a binary entity. He's the ying to the yang.
  4. Whose signings have brought the threat of FFP to our doorstep?
  5. Oh dear God - really? That's the plan? This isn't Field of Dreams. "Back him and we shall display bog-standard defending skills, we will gain in fitness, organisation, square pegs will slither into round holes and Brereton will come good".
  6. Do you believe in basic sentence punctuation?
  7. Utter nonsense. Against Barnsley (when we won!) Loads of people were going batshit crazy. When we fail against Preston, you'll see it again. Supporters have been unbelievably patient with him. More so than with any manager I can remember. We play in such a weak-minded, unprofessional manner, week after week. Even the most staunch, in denial of reality supporters, won't abide it much longer. It is dire. It is dross. Above all, it's bloody unacceptable.
  8. Please don't grammar police. I always feel it discredits a poster (not the one intended though).
  9. Shame Mowbray can't get one somehow. ...then again, Benno would probably become player manager.
  10. I had a similar rant regarding the overly positives (off this site) so I totally get it . I love it on here because it is rare people blindly disagree, there's usually substance to whatever an argument is and a mixture of opinions and ages. For me, the point of making a change is I have been massively unimpressed by him and don't trust him with what limited funds we have. I'd much rather write the season off and let a better man get to grips with our shocking defence and poorly balanced squad. It would give us the best chance next season - we might even get 'the bounce' and do something this season. The young players are regressing fast (imo) because they are pushed from pillar to post, the strikers are on the wings, nobody has the faintest clue who plays when and where, there's mistake after mistake and we concede too often and too cheaply - and we can't have that.
  11. You have to factor in that the Brentford lad also has people putting in decent movement around him. Apart from when we wake up and finally hit a team quickly, we are a sluggish, gutless, too many touches, sideways and backwards passing team who constantly kill momentum. I've seen Rothwell make countless forward runs, only for nobody to go forwards with him or the 'striker peeling off to the wide areas. He then consistently lays the ball off sideways or backwards - because that is the ONLY option. Also, now Graham's legs have gone, he can't make those runs along the back line waiting for a sneaky through ball, in fact, with our approach play so slow, defenders are often set up inside their area by the time we even get up there - rather than on the edge of it, so there is no space to exploit. Mowbray needs to take a long hard look at himself. His players. His tactics. His failures. His square pegs in round holes - and no amount of bullshit in the Telegraph will tell me my eyes aren't working.
  12. Lenihan is another who flatters to deceive. Decent header of the ball but teams target him by popping the ball over him. When he is running back facing his own goal, he is extremely panicky and rash. I have no idea who our defensive coaches are but they need sacking. We are so easy to play against. Basic pub league tactics unpick us every week and it drives me mad.
  13. Imagine if we could even get him on right wing so he can actually get balls across the goal! I hope it works out for him and glad he has made it onto the field at long last (through default). Similar to Travis when he was destined for the exit door but Smallwood got sent off.
  14. Prices on the concourse need sorting. They are a joke.
  15. They just seem so shot shy, unwilling to attack the 6 yard box and lack aggression. So many times you expect a shoulder charge but the just flop over at the slightest tickle. I honestly think the softly, softly approach with them doesn't work. Dack on the other hand loves a physical battle and will throw his body on the line. We'll miss him massively as nobody else poaches around the 6 yard box.
  16. That is very unfair to suggest genuine life-long supporters on here are fickle. There are very few fickle folk on here to be honest. If you've arrived at the party late, you may have missed that the strongest suggestions and criticisms on here have consistently been: Play players in their proper positions. Stick with a settled side. Buy some defenders. Drop Bennett for Nyambe. Play to our strengths, not the strengths of the opposition. Introduce more pace and movement by playing Rothwell. Stop playing Gallagher as a winger. BUY SOME DEFENDERS Move the ball quicker instead of this lethargic approach play. Press higher up the pitch. Replace Bell and buy some effing defenders!!! Now, when Mowbray finally did most of that and he picked the same team for four games, we won four on the bounce - and it wasn't ever rocket science. Yet, myself and the other tiresome members of the brigade didn't get over-excited and knew it wouldn't be long until Bennett was back in situ and way out of his depth, that numerous unnecessary changes would be made in order to give lads a game, that we'd concede ground on the pitch, start inviting crosses into the box again and stop pressing in the other half. We knew that we would quickly revert to type and a winless run. We knew this because we recognise what a poor manager he is on the most basic of levels and we listen to Mowbray's contradictory soundbites. So unfortunately, I can't take your advice to just put up with the dross and shut up because clapping along merrily won't help the long-term future of this club. Supporting a team doesn't mean sitting back, smiling and accepting failure. I would much rather get rid of this useless chap now and give the new man the opportunity to chance his arm for the playoffs or at the least, give him a fantastic opportunity to have a kind of pro-longed pre season 20-21 and see what is worth keeping or shipping out (like we did with Souness).
  17. I'd love someone like Souness to be in charge of Bell. He'd get him in order through a good old dose of fear. Even my wife (who knows little about football) said yesterday, "Why is that one with the gloves not even trying to stop him cross?"
  18. What's Marshall up to? He was a far better right back than Bennett and Yes, he could cross a ball.
  19. I've endured every minute of them all. It's not that they don't give a shit, it's that they aren't fit enough to give a shit, they are too mentally weak/tired to pull off the basics for a prolonged period of time and are generally confused as to what their roles actually are - as some of them have up to four different ones within a match.
