  1. Gally walking around celebrating Szmodics' achievements, story of the season
  2. This is torture. Give Sammie the keys to the town if we survive though, Dolan and Gally should be paying his wages!
  3. Well, on the plus side if we keep it at 0-0 the rest doesn't matter, but that Plymouth goal is a massive problem as that was the more unlikely of the results to go against us. The problem will come when we have to use the bench later in the game and if Leicester decide to have a go. If we go one down do we really expect them to go for it?
  4. Zero tactics other than sit as many people behind the ball and hope for the best. Good luck getting fans through the gates to watch this dross next season.
  5. The academy has been a huge factor in our constant downsizing. It is used to highlight the owners "continued investment" as well as the main way of generating new players for the first team, which means we keep pulling young players into the squad who are either much too raw or will never be good enough at this level. Any normal club loans them out to lower league clubs to get an idea of where they stand before trying them at a higher level, we throw them in at the deep end and hope for the best because we refuse to use the transfer market properly.
  6. More and more teams are passing us by and with Venky's we're going to struggle to stay in the Championship even medium term. Eventually, there will be too many teams with owners that care for us to compete and before you know it Waggott will be telling us how we "can't compete" in the transfer market against Wrexham and the like.
  7. Broughton and Waggott to replace Sammie with Tyjon next season and we'll be fighting for that Rotherham record.
  8. It's all well and good setting up to not concede, but that leads to us drawing as a best case scenario, and would also see us relegated over a season even if by some miracle we didn't lose any. Wins are just worth more, ultimately 1 win and 2 defeats is worth more than 2 draws and a defeat, which is more along the lines of what what Eustace has us at currently. You can shore things up and still effectively attack, just look at how the likes of Big Sam and Warnock have turned teams around in the past. His tactical "know how" has been sit everyone behind the ball and hope for a miracle. I seem to recall him coming in as an alleged set piece specialist as well and we're still awful there too.
  9. Not only are TW and WR local companies, but they were both already sponsors of smaller sections of the club beforehand. If this is true, this smacks of laziness. Surely, in all of the companies in the world there have to be some choices and that the two best offers aren't conveniently already on the books?
  10. 4? Am I forgetting one other than Sunderland and Leeds? Even if it was 4, which it isn't, that would still be abysmal. Ultimately we need a head coach who can adapt, because none of our coaches will ever get the squad they want. JDT had the problem that he refused to adapt and Eustace is following, but unlike JDT plays some of the most turgid football ever to grace Ewood and his interviews don't give him the benefit of the doubt like JDT got. He has done absolutely nothing to show he deserves his "own squad", and the one he built at Brum has done even worse than we have, albeit it with managerial turmoil of their own.
  11. Article 2057 on how standards at the club have been reduced.
  12. I would agree with you, if we hadn't had years of transfer windows where we push anyone worth a damn out and replace them with children and dross. If you can see anything in the DoF era of Rovers to suggest anything other than a sell and not replace properly strategy I'd love to see it too.
  13. They keep injecting money in, but the question has to be asked how we're still hitting this £20m loss per season still, considering we strip closer to the bone with every passing year. Nixon reckons they're still determined to get to the Premier League, but literally nothing they do matches with that thought process - unless a significant change happens, we'll be in League Two before we get to the PL.
  14. Not only are JDT's games where he couldn't be bothered comparable to JE's, but a lot of utter dross we've had in years past have better records too. Any half competent manager could have got even one home win from the games he's had. If the likes of Berg, Appleton, Coyle etc were sackable, Eustace is considerably more sackable. If we're in the Championship next season, he shouldn't be here. If we're in League One, he definitely shouldn't be here.
  15. And we still are rudderless. The only reason we may stay up is because other clubs have beefed it, not because we are any better.
  16. It made no sense on any level, Palmer was being a prat but he'd likely have been booked either way, no need to get involved at all. It wasn't even with the clock ticking down that much either, there was about 30mins left. Bizarre that he felt that that was urgent and necessary yet piddling about with 5 at the back with even less time to go against 10 men wasn't.
  17. As much as I want Birmingham down, I think it's the Plymouth game we need to keep the biggest eye on as I think it's the one most likely to go in our favour. Rovers are more than likely going to get absolutely shafted, so we need one of the other results to go our way. Fingers crossed - at least we're not in a position like last time where we pulled off a great win at Brentford for it not to matter.
  18. I expect Johanson will have far better offers than us. And even if he didn't, would he really want to be in another team that's just going to get battered game after game next season?
  19. We will have to hope that Leicester don't turn up with their shooting boots, because we won't bother attacking them. The comments of "hitting the target of 50 points" after the draw yesterday shows that. We will likely concede a bucketful and if Lady Luck is on our side then we will stay up because of another result, rather than our own (please let it be Big Club). Leicester 4-0 Rovers
  20. I saw a clip from a podcast not so long ago with Big Sam and Tony Pulis and Pulis was talking about when Stoke got promoted to the Premier League. He said Sir Alex told him they needed to make their home games as nasty as possible, and if opposition managers started praising their football they were as good as relegated.
  21. I wasn't the biggest fan of Mowbray but he was leagues ahead of Eustace.
  22. Okay... which doesn't at all refute my point that behind the forwards they had less players than normal so we could have putting someone more attack minded and pinned them back. Honestly I don't get what your point is, bot for the first time admittedly.
  23. If a 10 man team has 2 up front, they by default have less behind than they normally would do. They couldn't do that if we pushed someone up the field.
  24. What on earth have you seen that makes you think he's a fine manager? He's been dire with us and has been dining off of a short burst of results at Brum in the gap between clubs. Arguably, Wharton aside, he has a better squad than JDT had because a lot of the injured players came back when he took over, and yet still he can barely scrape points.
