v Leicester City (h) - 01/10/23RTM08 replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Was always going to happen. It's easy to forget how young he is and it's rare that players that age maintain performances over a long run of games. Could do with a rest but who do you even replace him with?

v Leicester City (h) - 01/10/23RTM08 replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Important to note that both of those teams changed manager so not really the same as one team continuing to do the same thing.

v Leicester City (h) - 01/10/23RTM08 replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Awful again. JDT wants to play good football but it just isn't sustainable with this squad and it becomes suicidal. We're leaking goals for fun and nothing seems to be changing. Can't expect to improve when you spend your limited budget on a bunch of sicknotes.

v Leicester City (h) - 01/10/23RTM08 replied to speeeeeeedie's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Not necessarily comparing us to these teams but we're showing hallmarks of our last 2 relegation teams. Decent enough up top but leak goals for fun. That said, when your team relies entirely on freebies and kids it's inevitable that you'll get pulled down into a relegation fight eventually.

At the end of the day, this is what you get with owners with zero ambition. Continuing to rely on the academy as a crutch only sends you in one direction. With the summer signings barely featuring we're the same team as last season with a glaring weakness at both ends of the pitch. Venkys out.

Regardless of the ref, England have been abysmal and bu far the worse team. Granted I only saw since the 60th minute, but I've seen a single shot in that entire time. Spain have created chance after chance and deserve to win.

v West Bromwich Albion (H) - 05/08/2023RTM08 replied to Polky's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It's just going to result in too many injuries and a reduction in quality in the long run.

v West Bromwich Albion (H) - 05/08/2023RTM08 replied to Polky's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I always thought the same of Tugay too. I watched a thing a while ago on Messi at Barca and they analysed how he created significantly more space barely moving and choosing his moments compared to everyone else running about. Sign of a special player for sure.

Girona Friendly - #fanstakeoverRTM08 replied to We Are The Rovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Similarly you can't expect him to make up for Diaz's goals in his first full senior season. Usually you would be expected a player in his position to be contributing the odd goal here or there off the bench, not be leading the line.

Going into the season with Dolan, Markanday and Leonard as our front three screams relegation battle. After the positivity of June this is just depressing. Not a chance we'll be anywhere near where we were last year.

23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?RTM08 replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The colours are alright but that pattern is awful, looks like someone wallpapered over the shirt with no thought of its shape.
-
23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?RTM08 replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The sponsor is still awful looking (aside from morally questionable) and that collar is nasty - sky blue doesn't work at all. It's a no from me.

23/24 kit; is a new sponsor needed?RTM08 replied to alex l's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Well, that's another season where I won't be buying any shirts. I don't know who is in charge of getting sponsors etc but Recoverite aside I can't think of any since we came down to this league which didn't seem like an awful option from a brand standpoint.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachRTM08 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The cup runs were fine (even if we did throw the quarter final) but I'd have traded both of them for the extra point we needed. At the end of the day we're not going to win either cup so the league has to take priority.
-
Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachRTM08 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Yeah, I'll have really fond memories of a season where we got absolutely humiliated by Burnley, Preston, relegated Reading, Rotherham, Luton, Coventry etc, played some of the worst football I've ever seen for over half a season and blew the chance of play-offs by winning 1 "cup final" out of 9. Not a chance we finish any higher than this next season, especially with the teams coming down and I have no faith that this football is at all effective over a season at this level.

v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Because even in the event that we won, the chances of us actually getting into the top 6 was remote at best. Way more pressure on Millwall than us.
-
v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard We haven't been "done over" by anyone but our own shocking football over the past 6 weeks. They don't get a pass because they decided to play once it didn't matter despite having it in their own hands until about a week ago. We have a goal difference of -2 - that's what ended our season.
-
v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Play-offs is still better than we've ever managed and ever will with Venky's in charge.

v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Yeah, the cure is having our bottlejobs as competitors
-
v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I can, we always turn up when it's too late to mean anything
-
v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard How anyone can have watched this last month or so and thought he's the one I'll never know. Regardless of the lack of a striker the football we play is still suicidal, the team has no fight or will to get back into games and the game management is non-existent. Absolute dross.
-
v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th MayRTM08 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard As always we have no bottle for a big game. Still not convinced how this new brand of football is supposed to be entertaining when we seem to be completely incapable of competing with anybody.

v Luton Town (h) - 1/5/23RTM08 replied to roverandout's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard May as well throw Wigan at home while we're at it. We've been god awful against some of the worst sides in this league.
