  1. Btw, totally unrelated to the topic title, but I'm watching Notts Co & Grimsby & why is the pitch better than ours!!!??
  2. I don't know if he's part of the Blackpool first team set up or not, but I think probably so that the dust can settle a little bit before he has to play in a stadium full of fans. As has been said quite a few times in the posts above, unfortunately, 'Fans' includes many bellends. Doing it now at least means it's not fresh news the next time he takes to the pitch. Can't say that I blame him. Fair play.
  3. One of the questions at the pub quiz down at my local last night was: "How many current Premier League grounds have the word 'Road' in them?" I did have to write down the names of every Prem team to get the answer, which was 3 - Norwich, Watford and Leeds, ironically, the bottom 3 teams. I then got to thinking about what if these 3 all went down. Looking at teams who are either going up or are in the play-offs, unless Luton go up, next season there will be no PL grounds with the word 'Road' in them. A completely useless statistic, but I wonder if that's ever been the case before?
  4. Thank Christ for that. Club statement & it's just been on Radio 2 news so I might actually believe it now. Notice he still managed to mention the "Journey" in there. Now come on Rovers, big opportunity here, some good managers currently looking for work - no excuses, the right man is out there. As we all know, we could appoint Pep or Jurgen & it could still go tits up, but at least get someone in who at least looks like the right ambitious type of appointment. Don't Farke this one up!
  5. Not that I'm advocating Gerrard as being a messiah or anything like that, but the job he's done at Villa is actually better than I thought. Like you @roversfan99, I thought he'd had a poor start, but I've just been reading a few of todays articles on the Sky website and he's taken 33 points from his 23 in charge. Villa have improved massively defensively, but it seems that they either win or lose at the moment (W10 D3 L10). The link to the article is below, but I found it surprising: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12609564/steven-gerrard-exclusive-interview-aston-villa-boss-striving-to-close-the-gap-to-the-elite-ahead-of-liverpool-showdown
  6. I made the mistake of reading the LT comments on his latest drivel but one which made me laugh which I thought was quite accurate was: "he's getting clingy now, it's like someone constantly hanging around their ex hoping they'll change their mind"
  7. Thanks once again Tony. Always hard to read after a demoralising defeat, must be even worse taking the time & effort to run through the whole 90mins again. Always appreciated though mate. 👏
  8. BTW folks & @Bbrovers2288, if it is DiMatteo, you heard it here first! 😉
  9. Wiki also states that (obviously) all Farke's coaching staff are also out of work after leaving the Russian side. That's surely gotta be another tick in the box regarding not having to pay any compo? Sorry, I'm getting a little giddy now. Need to remember this is not pre-Venkys Rovers.
  10. Probably looking forward to a possible trip to Wembley - 2nd would've been well out of sight by then.
  11. If it's worth anything, I heard that a guy called Windy is willing to the job for fuck all - he knows nowt about football management but gives a shit! Are we in?
  12. Exactly Herbie - we all know it's Gavin Ward's fault! 😄 Knowing our luck, if we did complain & they changed the ref, that's exactly who we'd end up with!
  13. Thanks for the report as always Tony. Your scores also back up my thinking that straight after the match, for me, DL was MoM by quite a clear margin.
  14. Had to think twice about going today myself. It's only the alternative of having to remove the old shower tray & put a new one in that's convinced me to go!
  15. Great Post which can be summed up in 4 words and a 'special character' = Mowbray is a prick!
  16. Watched them earlier. Again, as @Oldgregg86 said, surprised the Pickereing header wasn't in there. I always go on my reaction from goals I see live & that was one i went mad for. Based on that, it's Ben's header against the Nobbers for me. Although again, @Oldgregg86 nails it with the best technically. Gally's against the Smoggies deserves a mention though, on third spot. Edit: Pickering gets 2nd even though he's not it there! Otherwise 2nd for JR against Cardiff - beautifully placed with swerve.
  17. Not strictly an assist, but I remember Tim Flowers once booting it downfield to Chris Sutton who nodded it down for Shearer to smash home. 3 touches, one from each player. Can't remember who it was against but I seem to recall it being scored at the DE.
  18. Didn't Ayala & Lenihan both score from headers from corners away at Forest? Could be wrong. Edit: Yep, I am wrong. Just watched the highlights again & they were both from free kicks. DL's was after a bit of pinball & the ball put back in from the byline.
  19. It was indeed Many Clouds, one of Trevor Hemmings' horses. I believe there is also a Bar named after that horse at Aintree. I manged to get 5th & 7th today (luckily the bookies were paying out on 5th). We have always let the kids pick a couple of horses on the National & my daughter got 3rd & 4th today. She's made up with her £27 for a £2.50 EW bet on each.
  20. Fuck me! How loud do we need the music in the BBE?
  21. Surely if this is true it should have its own thread?
  22. Don't know mate. Just going off the rumour that was posted on here a couple of pages back.
