Why can't we win when we go 1-0 down?

So the directive is, we are not allowed to play/buy players above a certain age? -

Perhaps it’s not just a Rovers thing. I’m not too sure how many bookmakers offer odds on this, but William Hill do. I just checked and for Ipswich to score first on Saturday and Rovers to win, it is 14/1. Just to check the same thing on another game, I tried Norwich to score first and Plymouth to win, which is 12/1 and the same odds apply to Preston to score first and WBA to win. Find a double like that and a £1 stake would return £170 so it’s probably a rare event at most clubs. -
Maybe get a quick bit of marketing out to sort that. The acronym to start this is SWIMS. Steve Waggot It's My Seat.

It’s a very frustrating night tonight. As in most Revers games, over the last 2 - 3 seasons, the first goal was crucial. What a pity we couldn’t turn that blistering 25 minute start into a 2 or 3 goal lead. The pen and their goal changed the game and conceding the second, when we did was also a killer. Some good performances tonight from Moran in particular and Hyam and Carter. It feels like small margins, but there is a long way to go yet. Unlikely as it feels just now, a win on Saturday, will make tonight a faded memory and I think we could surprise a few there. -

He's fat, he's round, he watches every pound, Steve Waggott, Steve Waggott ♬ ♬ ♬ I am sure there is better, but this is my lame effort. -

I think we need to hijack a song and fit Waggotts name into it. I am sure between us, we can get something sorted, akin to cheer up Kevin Keegan to the sleepy Jean monkeys song. Best suggestion on here gets an airing on Wednesday. -
I hope the Blackburn End carry on the tirade against him, until he quits in shame. The man is an embarrassment, to our club.

If Jesus has been giving him lessons, he should be able to walk on water.

It’s a narrative the media wanted to portray. Its been pointed out on here recently, how much Man U have spent over the last 10 years. As Kenny said at the time, the money helps, but it’s not the be all and end all. -

Thanks. It was Chesterfield -
All speculation. I simply keep myself sane on the subject, by thinking something was so dodgy at the takeover point, when they were mixed up with agents and rogues, that they are too scared to off load it. If they do sell it, someone doing their due diligence will out what happened and expose a bag full of corruption. Its probably not the real reason, but it helps me to sleep at night.

I didn’t see Byrom the first time around, as it was before my time. I did see him play his final season for us too. I also remember Malcom Darling playing against us too, but can’t remember who he played for. His sister Stella Oldfield (née Darling) was a family friend and I remember her telling me her brother was playing against us, the night before the match. Does anyone remember who he played for? -

I need a beer after that. Great entertainment, but both teams were very open. Just a thought, would anyone swap a poor Lenihan for a very steady Hyam. Huge game Wednesday, if we win that, it’s a very good start., COYB 5,000 not out for our wonderful club. -
I thought GB came across very well. I am not one for accepting that everything that comes out of someone’s mouth is true, so really think this interview will make or break him. The next 5 league games and the cup game will define our season. If we can pick up 9 or 10 points and progress in the cup, it’s game on. If not, this interview will suddenly seem to have lots of platitudes in it.

I second that and would say please bring it on, if the poster wants to start a pro ownership thread. I might be wrong, but suspect that al least 99% of the member on here (including Sympathetic Claret) consider these owners to be nothing but Charlatons. In the whole of my time supporting Rovers, I have never known anything feel like this. Having gone through relegations, agonising play off defeats (Palace being the worst one), agonising cup defeats and losses to our local rivals, the years of torment, these people have put us through, is 100 times worse than any of those out together. The sooner they are gone the better and I do wonder how any proper long term supporter can see it any differently.

How “The club” can state that is beyond me and given how the owners are under investigation, for what appears to be a serious matter, then perhaps “The club” needs to carry out some further due diligence. I know meetings take place between Waggott and various groups, so perhaps the next key question, is why he came out bragging about paying the wages and leasing a new coach. Was he aware of what was really going on, or did he believe the narrative about the tax changes? Dependent on his answer to this and given that the investigation appears to be on going, perhaps a proper statement, about what the consequences and some assurances to the football authorities, needs to be forthcoming.
