Wouldn’t even say I’m in the “Mowbray out” camp. I’m in the “If Mowbray leaves would I be bothered? Probably not” camp. I like what Struber has done at Barnsley though and the way he’s got them playing especially, he’s done a quality job there and if Mowbray was to leave (which he won’t) then I wouldn’t say no to him coming here and taking the reins.

The way Barnsley’s manager came in and turned there season around has been really impressive, they battered Leeds the other night but lost and got a deserved win against Brentford tonight. They’ve looked a half decent side since he took over whenever I’ve watched them and if Mowbray was to go I wouldn’t say no to their manager coming here. 12 wins 7 draws and 13 defeats is not relegation form and for a team with one of the worst squads in the league he’s done a great job.

Very true, I’ve felt that frustration myself but is this squad a top six squad? Nope.

Nothing to play for against a team fighting for their lives. It was always going to be a home win. Delighted for Luton and Barnsley both staying up, massive achievement for both of them. And a big up yours to all those Wigan fans who tweeted vile things to Dacky when he did his injury, I do have sympathy for the better half of Wigan’s support though, they don’t deserve to see there club go down.... I don’t want to say it because I said the same at the end of last season but I’ll say it again, a massive summer was transfer window coming up.... A respectable 11th placed finish for us which with our squad I don’t see as being an underachievement at all, am I filled with optimism going in to next season though? No. Do I trust Mowbray to recruit well this summer? No. Don’t really know what to think right now. ?

That lad they’ve got on loan from Everton Kieran Dowell looks a real player, not that we need anymore attacking midfielders to be fair. They must have a left back or a winger we could grab off them though who’s better than Bell/Williams and seen as we don’t really have many out and out wingers then anyone will do for that spot?

Cardiff winning tonight means even a win for us wouldn’t have been enough, that’s the only positive from tonight though. Has Mowbray taken us as far as he can? Maybe and he’s had millions to spend as well, but do I trust the Chicken farmers to find an adequate replacement for him? Not a chance, we’ll end up with Pardew or something.

Can’t complain about today, we played pretty well against a good side and were unlucky not to win it at the end with the two big chances we had. The damage has been done against Wigan and Barnsley, Leeds was always going to be a tough game but to lose those two has really fucked us.

No chance Smallwood gets a new deal, he’s not played all season. Samuel wouldn’t surprise me but I certainly wouldn’t be renewing his contract, he wasn’t good enough when we were in league one never mind the championship.

Joe Garner was absolutely prolific for our reserves but never got a chance in the first team here, he’s gone on to have some sort of a decent career though. The Cotton lad is a name I remember as one of our most promising youth players, just shows you can have all the talent but if you don’t have the right mind-set and application you’ll never make it. We’ve always had good players in our youth and reserve sides since I’ve been a kid but it‘s crazy thinking about how few have made it here or elsewhere! At least we’ve seen the emergence of Travis, Nyambe and Lenihan here in recent years ??

That away end when Newell grabs his second, wow! What were away days like in our success of the early 90s? My dads told me a few stories of great atmospheres and great away performances, makes me extremely jealous. I was born in 1996 so I can’t even claim to have been alive when we won the title. There will be a good few Leeds in the home ends anyway, there’s usually one or two you see getting a hiding and then being removed. I’ve only ever watched us once or twice in the home end on an away game, it’s uncomfortable I don’t enjoy it and if you’re stupid enough to cheer etc when your team score then you should be prepared for the backlash!

Tomorrow I was going to buy tickets for the Wigan game next Wednesday , is there any chance of football being moved to behind closed doors before then does anyone think? Might be a stupid question but I can’t be bothered buying tickets to then not be able to go ?
