  1. Don’t bite Big dog. I don’t think any Rovers fan would have expected this squad too be in the play offs at this stage. Ludicrous thought.
  2. The point was Brereton is so weak, he needs to spend the summer in the gym. It’s early days yet but the kid needs to improve a hell of a lot from what I’ve seen.. I’m not too disappointed about tonight either, we were probably the better side and we were always going to be vulnerable with that defence. Show the same application and effort on Saturday we should beat Ipswich.
  3. Two of them were basically playing the same position for the majority of the first half, we were basically playing with one at the back in Lenihan! My interpretation was we were playing a back four with Nyambe as one of the centre halves, but he was basically sharing the right back spot with Reed and Bell was Just nowhere. This meant they had so much space in behind and when playing balls through, a better team would have destroyed that back four. Still, we were still probably the better side and once again our effort cannot be faulted. We are 3 or 4 players away from being a really good side, I pray to god TM gets it right in the summer. I’ve seen someone say they’d take 500k for Brereton. I wouldn’t disagree. The lad would get pushed off the ball by my grandma..
  4. Positives too take from that for sure. I’m not Smallwood’s biggest fan but he was probably MOTM tonight. Travis again was excellent but he was gone after 90 minutes, put a huge shift in. 120 minutes on the clock and Bennett is running 50 yards to cross the ball in to the box, you cannot fault him for effort. Reed did very well and Graham and Lenihan also put big shifts in. We were always going to struggle with such a makeshift defence but on the whole I think we were the better side. Hopefully it hasn’t taken too much out of them as we should be beating a poor Ipswich side on Saturday. Heads up boys.
  5. Well someone posted earlier in this thread yesterday that we’d sold 8000 and them 2000 as of yesterday, so I doubt we’ll get too 15-20k. Probably be around 11-12k on.
  6. And how could we not take that up? He’s been brilliant for us and if last year he takes more of a back seat then so be it. I don’t think any rovers fan would have said no to giving Graham another year, he’s a class act.
  7. Been saying for months Bell and Williams are both not good enough to play in this league. Bell has age on his side but for me he should not be starting games in this league and last night proved that. Conway may as well have a run out at left back to see how he gets on as he can’t be much worse.
  8. Norwood is a Burnley lad through and through, if there was competition from other championship clubs he certainly wouldn’t be choosing us!
  9. I’d love too have Hanley back. He’d be class alongside Mulgrew. Rovers shared our trip too Milwall in April 2013 on twitter and it was Hanleys 60 yard run that won us a penalty to take all 3 points in the dying embers. Brilliant. Olsson would solve our horrendous left back options. I will always love Jordan Rhodes but couldn’t see that happening unfortunately... Don’t think it would take much too bring big Grant back, 3/4 million? If we can spend 7 on an unproven 19 year old then that’s peanuts .. Who knows who TM is after though, he keeps everything under wraps and it’s rare anything leaks. Most of our signings under him have been players who were never really linked to us at the time, and those who do get linked it’s usually bullshit.. I think I prefer it that way.
  10. Yeah not seen anything to suggest there’s any movement in this one whatsoever, think all it was, was a suggestion by someone on here. Imagine having the left foot of Baines and Mulgrew in the same team, spoilt for choice set piece wise. I was thinking on Saturday when watching the game, Charlie’s delivery from free kicks and corners has to be one of the best in the league, unreal.
  11. He’s been active enough on Twitter don’t worry, He’ll be back. Chaddy Schwarzenegger
  12. He’s on 100k a week at West Ham I’ve read before. Madness
  13. Think the Mods have paid for a shared storage unit and they’re holding him up in there ... he’s a very frustrating person to speak too at times but I never thought i’d miss seeing what he has too say on things. I love you chaddy, come home..
  14. Too be fair a case could be made for all those positions you mentioned being the “top priority” Rev. One thing for sure pal is they are ALL badly needed!
  15. Before the season started I didn’t see many of us say we needed a new left back despite what Merce says, I think we all thought Bell and Williams were good options. However, as the seasons gone it’s become apparent both are nowhere near good enough for this level and a new left back should be top of the priority list in the summer.
  16. Aiming for top 8? Really? Me personally I’d happily take a mid table finish as it’s something to build on. Expecting a top 8 finish is a bit too ambitious for my liking Mercer. We don’t have enough quality. If we can finish around 15th this season and sign some players who will definitely improve the squad for next season then we can expect more, the majority of our starting line up were players who played in league one last season, why would you expect us to be around the top 8 seriously? Spending 7 million on Brereton I can’t defend at all as it should have gone on 2 or 3 players to supplement the rest of the squad, but until this summer is over chill out man. Let’s see what our squad looks like on the first game of NEXT season before we start talking about top 8.. This current squad is where it should be for me. If we finish anywhere between 11th-15th it will have been a more than solid first season back in this league.
  17. Think you’ve been drinking too much of that “fine red” you always bang on about. If you were expecting a promotion push this season you’re in dream world.
  18. Like some have said, I think we will struggle too match our league attendance in terms of home fans. The draw tonight might have an impact on the attendance, if we were going in to the game knowing a win would set up a game against the dingles then we’d sell a few more for sure. If this game is televised also, even at £10 a ticket I’d be surprised if we shifted 10k. Prove me wrong blues.
  19. The words “Brereton” and “Wide man” should never be used in the same sentence..
  20. He came on today at a time where Newcastle were starting to press, a few minutes later they had a penalty and Dack was substituted and he was literally on his own with no support up top trying to win (not very well) aerial battles which he was never going to win. I’ve been critical of his cameos but today isn’t a day too be to harsh on him.
  21. Jordan Mutch has left Palace and is now a free agent, looked like a real player at one time. I remember he was Cardiff’s main man when they had there previous season in the prem. He was then signed by QPR for 6 million and then Palace for a bit less.. If he could regain his previous form He’d be an upgrade on Smallwood that’s for sure! Still only 27 too
  22. Only 2,200 sold so far. Little bit of time left yet but I expected us to sell a lot more at that price. Quite a poor turnout really, should be a class day. Not many places better for a day on the drink than the toon.
  23. Dack Palmer and Rothwell, 3 players all best in the number 10 role. Spoilt for choice there where as on the wings we’ve got nothing, needs too be sorted out for next season that.
