As much as Cook is a you know what he took them up last year and although they’ve had a few bad results I cant see what on earth would make you think they’ll get rid of him? I agree there’s holes to fill, we were a side coming up from league one and so far you cannot argue with our league position. We’ve made a great start, we were never going to replace the full squad. It takes time and fingers crossed TM gets the backing to keep improving the squad each window and those not consistently good enough for this league gradually get fizzled out. On Brereton, his 10 minute cameos on the right wing where he clearly isn’t suited to playing aren’t going to do him any justice. It’s concerning that Mowbray is reluctant to give the lad some proper game time up top but hopefully when the time comes DG can’t do it anymore, Brereton is ready to step up. It’s a big fee for a club like us with questionable finances ??‍♂️ but I think we have too be patient with this one. We were never going to get promoted this season realistically and as it’s also unlikely we’ll go down, I guess you could argue easing him into the team is a good idea. Albeit i’d prefer him to be playing in his proper position.

I get what you’re saying but 7 million on 6 players? Doubt you’d get much quality for that Merce. 7 million for 3 players sounds a bit better! Left back is a glaring weakness in our side, Bell and Williams both not good enough. Fingers crossed we finish solid enough this season and the loons back TM next summer so we can improve our weak positions. Wouldn’t expect too many incomings in Jan other than a striker on loan possibly.

The first thing Armstrong did when he came on was bolt down the wing and take it past two players then after that he was awful, poor decision making in his passing and giving silly fouls away. There were times when the ball went over the top and he just stopped as though he couldn’t be arsed. I love DG but he was gone after 60 minutes, but instead of swapping him for Brereton, Brereton only gets 10 minutes invisible on the wing. Rothwell as tidy as ever when he came on and other than missing that chance and that stupid dummy which nearly put them through on goal, I thought Evans had a good game today. Disappointing not to come away with all 3 points today, would have been huge to take into the tough run of games we have coming up.

Bowyer had Rhodes and Gestede firing 20 goals EACH and couldn’t get us into the playoffs. Cairney, a younger Conway, Marshall, Hanley,Duffy, Josh King.. That squad is better than our current squad on paper. If Gestede and Rhodes were up against our defence the way we are currently playing, with Marshall and Conway delivering they’d have a field day! We looked sooo shaky from corners and set pieces tonight. We are relying solely on Graham and Dack, do you think graham for all he offers is going to score twenty a season? No chance. We’ve just come up from league one man, bar our recent bad run and worst performance of the Mowbray era tonight, If you’d have been shown the league table as it now going in to December prior to the season starting you’d have more than taken it... Bowyer should have got us into the play offs with the squad he had, our squad as it is, is mid table at best and as that is currently where we are, you can’t really say TM is underachieving. However, should this run continue we could be talking a lot different come the new year. The performance tonight was a disgrace and if we don’t see a response Saturday i’ll be worried.

Just got home. I’ll always give the opposition credit if they are worthy but honestly Wigan are awful, shows how bad we were tonight. Everytime they had a corner you felt as though they would score. That second goal Jesus, keeper launches it Rodwell misses the header and then takes their lad down. Sunday league stuff, don’t let the ball bounce it’s basic man. First half as it went on, they were constantly running at bell who looked devout of any confidence and Armstrong was giving him no defensive cover at all. He was swapped flanks with Reedy after their first went in which by the way, how there lad was able to cut inside and take his time to pick the bottom corner out was a disgrace. Dack needs to be told to cut any media work out till he’s worthy of the praise, he’s been off the pace for weeks. Possibly the worst performance I’ve seen from us tonight under mowbray. I know we got thumped at the weekend but at least we actually created some chances, tonight we created F all and TM really needs to let them have it as it was absolutely unacceptable. We need a new left back in Jan, Williams got turned all over when he came on and Bell looks out of his depth. Charlie needs a bruiser alongside him at the back and we cannot be relying on Graham to be our main striker as he hasn’t got the legs for it. Every team has a bad run and hopefully we can put these recent performances behind us. Very very frustrating.

Wowwww I’m sat freezing my nads off and that first half was horrendous. Our left side is wide open, Bell looks absolutely out of confidence and armstrong was giving him zero support. The amount of time the Wigan lad had for their goal was criminal. Terrible.

Thought you’d come on here and defend TM, we know it was a bad day when even Chaddy is slating the performance and team selection. TM got it completely wrong today and the players by all accounts didn’t do much to bail him out either! Bad day at the office all round, need a response at Wigan big time. Give Brereton a start up front, and Rothwell Palmer and Dack in behind. We need to go for it on Wednesday, if we come away with only 4 points from QPR and Rotherham at home and PNE and Wigan away that would be a really poor return.

Had a terrible feeling when I saw Dack starting up top. What a bad result. Dack as well, hasn’t put a good performance in, in a while now. He’s scored in the odd game where he’s been invisible. Worried about him at the minute. Glad now I couldn’t make today and i’m going to Wigan instead, need to bounce back big time.

What’s the odds Dack starts as a false nine with armstrong out wide? We’ve seen it before. Hope not but I’m guessing that’s going to be the case.

Palmer has too start this one. I think he’ll be able to cause them real problems, no reason for us to start with Benno on the wing at home to this lot. Maybe even play Bennett in the middle with Reed. If we turn up I think we’ll have too much for them. No game in this league is easy though. 2-0 Rovers.
