I think the ‘best’ way to earn a little respect back would be for them to discreetly visit matchdays. Not in Mercedes Motorcades all along the JW stand, but done early in the day and without an air of ‘we’re better than you lot’. Perhaps even do this for loads of games unannounced. I think a lot of people would feel a twinge of respect if it ‘transired’ that at least one of each of the owners (or their son) had been at loads of Ewood games without showing off.

Rog of the rovers makes a great point re: a potential line in the sand. I think if we got to the PL AND they showed a commitment to at least keeping us there (ie: like the Trustees, but with looser purse strings) I’d probably finally say I can properly tolerate them. That even gives them leeway, as I used to say I wouldn’t ever accept them even if they funded a PL win. Note: I say tolerate. Their term as owners will forever be marred by their disregard for all things Rovers until summer 2017.

I view Venky’s like I view President Trump. I wouldn’t boo or do anything hostile if they came here, but that’s only out of respect for the position they hold, not out of respect for them (when they themselves don’t respect their position).

Given that he’s played about 5 full games worth of minutes for us at most, and is 19, I’d say 2 goals from a position he’s not natural in (both wrongly disallowed imo), and drawing a penalty are a reasonable return.

I think Rothwell, Brereton, and Armstrong will all become regulars over the course of the season.

Another couple of ideas, might be able to attract some NEARLY out of contract options at cb: Derdyk Boyata, 28, Celtic. Timm Klose, 30, Norwich. Unrealistic imo but: Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Vincent Kompany, Gary Cahill, Martin Caceres, Diego Godin, and several other notables are out of contract next summer...

And anyone with a bit of emotional intelligence. It’s clearly typed in such a way to minimise Graham’s contribution (a hat trick and assist) compared to Brereton’s (a few good cameos).

Conway may have finally learned not to try to beat the full back with his legs, but his head. The key to older players lasting 90mins (fitness dependent) is rationing their running time. Hence why Tugay seemed to just get better and better because he could put a guy on his arse without moving. If that’s the case, Conway could be useful back up for as much as another season after this! However, one swallow doesn’t make a summer etc
