Imo, 3 at the back with wing backs is our way forward, as it's given us our best performances this season. How it is supported by midfield and forwards should be what we vary, but the defence should remain imo. Incidentally, 3 at the back is what Mowbray kept trying but could never get right, so I do actually view this as a positive point for JDT.

WLWLWL etc isn't bad form. It's better than average form as it includes no draws and likely places us 8th-10th. That with a squad that seemed to fall through a trapdoor February onwards.

Jonny Stead had my favourite 6 months of any Rovers player ever. His impact undoubtedly saved us from relegation in Souey's final full season. There first player that demonstrated to me the difference between class and form, but I'll be forever grateful for his contribution 🙂

I have my reservations about the owners, as we all have, BUT I believe the numbers surrounding FFP do show that Mowbray was given every penny that Venkys could allow him to spend. It's also true that in the last two windows, money was there going unspent, and that's from Mowbray's own mouth. He's a man full of excuses when it doesn't go his way. I have no issue with his struggling to push on. All managers hit that point eventually but his retconning guff is just annoying.

Finally listened to the GB interviews and really enjoyed them. Taking at face value that they basically 'started afresh' from his appointment, then we've had a very reasonable transfer window. He said something about it being two parts of his remit out of 6, and now the other 4 need attention until the next window. Wonder what they are?

Completely agreed. I think it will benefit from the written story being complete (albeit very brief), and therefore they can only add meat onto GRRM'S written skeleton. Enjoyed it immensely so far, although I expect I'll find the cast changes a bit jarring, just as I did/do with The Crown.
