That *was* the January Window

Relegation at this point would also be JDT’s fault. Let’s not forget that the palpable poor mood, is partly down to 1 win in 10 in the league, and a “head coach” blaming all and sundry bar his inability to “coach” us into defending set pieces. -

Since Henry Winter doesn’t post here, or 95% of those who I talk to at football, and about football, don’t post here; I would say that there is no special “knowledge” on BRFCS anymore. If you want the black and white answer; Wider fanbase and world -

You can’t compare this place to anywhere else, because all of the most angry, most reactive, most short sighted, most regularly dismissive of others and arrogant, the most likely to be finger pointing and blaming other fans… They’re already here! Moderates have been chased out in droves. -
You mean wages above revenue. A wage is still spending money on players. They’ve put nearly 10x the amount they bought the club for. I really hate this ownership, but it confuses me as to why people don’t just stick to “factual” reasons to berate them such as; 1. Absence / ignorance of importance of quality leadership above the team and coaching staff 2. Lack of a genuine long term plan communicated with fans 3. Prices which contribute to a 1/2 empty ground every week 4. Using non football experienced “directors” in shadows or as a go between, to stick oars in on family whims. There are hundreds of these with evidence to rationalise too, but we’re never going to help our argument through making stuff up about taking money out, black holes or mythical running costs.

Btw guys, this black hole people always talk about. It’s called wages above revenue. -
Way it’s presented to modern youth, whole point of football (unfortunately) is to setup yourself for life. It’s an opportunity to do that.

I can unequivocally state, nobody has been pushed through any doors. Life is short. He will signing a 4 year deal worth at least 5 million, and that sort of opportunity might seem easy to turn down for many here, but I’d argue IRL, 95% would fully understand - this is life changing for him and his family. There are plenty of good points about his potential, thus his value could skyrocket. It’s still worth remembering he could snap his ACL at any point. Good luck Adam.

Absolutely spot on. The part that I would add, this is a chance for us to break free from this bollox cycle of needing funds to cover a meagre amount of ambition. The ball is most certainly at JDT and GBs feet. -

Where is @RoversCanada when you need him! -

We don’t even help ourselves either - I mean how many goals come from losing the ball in our own half, sometimes own final third? The bloke is either stubborn or stupid. Surely a plan B, when we’ve a makeshift defence, would involve clearing your lines first if we’re deep in our own half being pressed. Absolutely no chance of that. Opposition managers have figured out “if we give them the ball, they’ll more likely hurt themselves” -

Nobody taking responsibility, nobody winning their own individual battle and nobody putting their body on the line. You could’ve said that about every goal other than the Asante bottom corner one. JDT either doesn’t want too, or cannot seem to make us anything but “weak as piss”. I think it’s time for him to go. -

Each to their own, I’d take 1.5m for Sam G Yes, he’s experienced and he obviously is a better option than Harry et al. The only problem is, he’s made of cottage cheese. The main position he occupies is the physios bed. -

I’ve always wondered why we don’t have agreements with league clubs where we can send 2 or 3 to one club at a certain level. Easier to settle, know someone in the squad and potentially play together at a higher level than u21s. Stanley for example. I guess the reason for this is we need fee paying loans. -

I take the second paragraph back. Enjoyed that from start to finish. Massive props to Pickering, Leonard, Hyam and Carter. How good did Adam look when he came on. Up the rovers -

First time this morning, actually excited about a couple of beers in the EWMC and a match! I predict it will take approximately 10 minutes of self defeating keep ball around our own box before I go back to hating every other second at Ewood! -
Yea, I vividly remember walking away from that game with KHod around the 60th minute rather embarrassed! We went on quite a good run after I recall.
-
I remember frustration about creativity or final ball (I’ve had a ST for donkeys years and watched those games btw) and I certainly remember head in my hands defending…. However, I do not recall ever sitting there thinking “wtf are we even trying to achieve?” I would say that we’ve shown at times exactly the Russel Martin nonsense argument - especially at home, especially this year. The relentless short passing from set pieces in our own half has caused so many issues and perseverance with it fills me with dread. It doesn’t need to be the exact opposite either, a style that relies solely on physical stats and set pieces. I’m sure even some minor aspects of “Pulis” in our approach would help, like a good old fashioned “when in doubt rule”.. I appreciate the business aspect involved in sustainability, where the “value added” stuff belongs - and the only way to evaluate that is long term, hence why I’m no in anyway trying to advocate any changes of personnel. I don’t do that anyway. I just can sense this is going to be a long fucking season. Please prove me wrong.
-
I’m not bothered about directness, wing play, a number ten, 3 at the back - whatever. Not fussed, I don’t know enough about tactics to have a stake in that argument. I find this particular brand incredibly boring at times to watch. As a fan. No amount of repeating yourself (I mean how many times do you want to type “highest league finish since relegation”?) is going to change that. I want to be proven wrong and excited about watching rovers.
-
I don’t recall ever pinching myself to stay awake watching our defence and goalkeeper pass it around then. Remember, this entire discussion started because I find the football boring. I can agree with everyone about giving someone time and the scenario also of being first in English leagues, arriving late etc. I get all of that. I just cannot stand this dot to dot stuff. I know yesterday was only pre season, but the first 30 minutes just felt like a prelude to more frustration.
-
Many loose and unnecessary passes + weak as piss unorganised defending against basics = the whole issue I have with JDTs “journey”. The end. I hope I have to eat these words ASAP.
-
Exactly the same points total as 21/22
-
No I wasn’t. TM didn’t inherit a team challenging for the playoffs previously. Besides this is not just about the result being the same (points / position / lack of playoffs) Im talking about the style, I find it boring. Over a full season on average. Maybe JDT can improve that this season and the results. I’m not convinced
-
I’m just saying that I find it boring. I appreciate that overall the job was a decent one. I’m just saying that this specific style of football is hard to watch. Over a season though - those things work out. There are a few complete no shows, that made just as much as an impact on our finishing position - simply listing all the unlucky things, forgets about times when we looked completely out of our depth. I agree we could improve this season but I guarantee that the patience won’t last if we don’t.
