  1. Because we keep losing players on frees pal.
  2. Fucking annoying isn’t it!
  3. His contract would’ve run till 30th of June
  4. I don’t think anyone but you ever interpreted it as that, but don’t let me stop you go reading posts from 6 years ago if it’ll get the sand out your arse.
  5. The flex? Aka the higher wages you can offer someone over their contract if you don’t have to pay a fee?
  6. We can easily offer estimates, or a view on the potential earnings those players can obtain here and elsewhere. All that stuff is readily available online. Like turnover to wage ratios, income levels, season ticket prices / numbers etc “Defending the club” is always the bollox that comes back when anyone offers anything that might be an external factor, like for example a player trying to maximise their income in a short career. Just read Preston’s chairmans recent comments; https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25245597.preston-chief-hits-unfair-issue-affecting-blackburn/ Thats not offering up excuses as to why our turnover is still dog shit, and not increasing enough due to a lack of decent backroom management. It’s not offering an excuse as to why managers walk out the door into teams in the relegation places.
  7. I ask you one question and you come back with a boring old BRFCS insult. That’ll teach me for signing in.
  8. Re Pears - just adding my thoughts, it was never simply the Wigan gaffe that caused my own dislike of him, it is the constant nervousness he passes on to the defence, especially under pressure. Especially when JDT made him have the most touches per game after dropping Kaminski, a horrible time to watch rovers. I had empathy with Pears, he should’ve never been in that situation but that might also be down to my hatred of this modern trend in football for the keeper to be basically a sweeper. The run of games with the fuckup vs Sheffield Wednesday. Seasons all blend into one for me nowadays, so I’m not sure what season it was - I particularly remember that goal he concedes vs Preston at home was just typical weak arse goalkeeping. No personality and I can’t see him getting better. It’s early days with Toth but Id go that way as I personally see far more potential.
  9. You tell us the kind of contract you think Dolan, Brereton, Rothwell, Lenihan would’ve signed.
  10. No, he’s normally in full stone island sat next to a lad with a big nose.
  11. Getting a reputation is Jim 😂
  12. His celebration was a lot of fun for the JW end 😂
  13. Dolan was really influential today - I know its unlikely but would be great to hear him sign a new deal.
  14. He didn’t put it all on Eustace - he explained that this has rumbled on since last summer and should’ve been sorted. You can say JE was lied too, but then you can also say he took the piss and used the situation. We all would professionally.
  15. I guess it goes down to reputation of knowing the transfer business - something @unleaded has plenty of. The sarcastic point about sabotage, just shows how you seemingly can’t see how this sort of power battle is caused by poor management. You can criticise the directors for this too you know? They allowed this argument to fester, they hired JE and the recruitment team. They’re most culpable! None of that absolves JE from manufacturing a better scenario for himself, whatever reason you might accept.
  16. The way people can jump to that sort of opinion on players so quickly is embarrassing. You negate any valid points you could ever make if you’re calling someone shit who you’ve never even seen start a league game. Equally people, players take time. Look at the way Big Mak played the other day? Does that make me a venky brother for saying the recruitment team did well?
  17. Perhaps if a protest was based on “X in” it might work better. Obviously that means finding someone who could entertain those sort of costs, but it would be much easier to get behind.
  18. This was the first post I read in this thread today so I’m ignoring everything else and just accepting this as reality and going to bed. Night lads
  19. Business spectacles on - applying for jobs, and those comments on bbc Sunday… It’s not a one way street. These lads know what they’re getting into. It would also be career suicide to just jump without a net, that’s the point of agents, his stock is probably as good as it’s been right now. It’s the engineering that gets me. At least JDT did it on the radio, JE has done it whilst preaching family, it just doesn’t sit well.
  20. Money and the opportunity to (re)build a cv come to mind. Do you need 500 words with an evaluation?
  21. Middle ground reached between us there, couldn’t agree more.
