  1. Hmmmm....................I'd like to do the same but something else to replace the 'dance'
  2. The next 2 games will define quite a bit. Win and we surge up the table lose and we're mired in the deep crap. Bowyer will be happy with a point a game but with his tactics I don't think we'll get them. I really hope I'm wrong.
  3. I'm struggling with Mr. Robot. It's good US TV, they do this sort of stuff well, so I'll stick with it. I'm going to revist Twin Peaks after years and years and just got Season 1 BluRay quality and in process of getting Season 2. The new David Lynch Season 3 looks like it might still be a year away.
  4. Me too. Bill & Ben were good guys but as a kid I had my doubts about Andy Pandy. Maybe before your time. TV took the P-iss out of us and we never knew. Tried to watch Episode 1 of 'The Hunted' which just reconfirmed how f-upped the UK is. It's great how most people who claim they do not watch TV will say the do watch Documentaries, many of which are pure propaganda for one cause or another. Except Wildlife of course....
  5. Yes indeed. I'm watching both and just got Eps 2.
  6. Just finished re-watching all the Star Wars movies - in the order of the storyline. This worked very well.
  7. Just started on Mr. Robot Ep 1 (I have Eps 1 tru 10)
  8. Technology works very well with things like hot spot, ball height and direction and such measurable events and slow motion is a useful tool too. However it does appear quite wrong to use such technology to gauge reaction in humans and in this case a fit professional sportsman. Stokes was doing numerous mental calculations in a split scond - starting from computing to where the ball was, what was going to happen next then how to get back into his crease and how not to get hit. I also seriously doubt that cheating was one of them - which is what the umpires decision effectively says.
  9. blueyedboy is hell of a good read: https://blueyedboy.wordpress.com/ An good example of his writing is: ''Anything which generates a corner, throw-in or free-kick has to be preferable to playing it out from the back through our midfield, which you might describe as pedestrian were it not for the fact that most folk you pass on the pavement have an idea where they’re going and a vague concept of how to get there'' Mods - ''The Relegation Thread'' should be pinned - it's going to be in use all season long.
  10. I hope not but I have a bad feeling about today. I do not trust the those running Ewood or the Pune vermin.
  11. This weeks stooge is Tommy Spurr. He thinks we deserve to be in the top 6 already. The, hopefully temporarily, deluded Spurr says “We’re all behind him and we’re all buying into what him and his staff are trying to do'' - why is it we are never actually told what it is that they are trying to do. That broad statement does my feckin head in. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13635821.Tommy_Spurr__Players_are_right_behind_Blackburn_Rovers_boss_Gary__Bowyer/?ref=mac I assume Myers writes the scripts for the players and that's why he's too busy fire fighting to communicate outside of Ewood
  12. If Bowyer remains in charge and looking at the upcoming fixtures we could well be as good as relegated by the end of October. I mean so far cut adrift to make an incoming managers job nigh impossible. Sack Bowyer now to give an experienced manager some chance to mould a proper team out of the dross that Bowyer has put together. Any manager who clearly views Lowe as the key lynch-pin is his team is at best deluded. We are going down under Bowyer but the problem as always is that those cu*** in Pune do not give a flying ****
  13. I know it's wrong and unsporting but I do hope the rain stays until Monday evening.
  14. If the weather holds we will do well to stay in the game until lunch on Sunday. Ali still to bat so that will be worth watching but he's in a no win situation. Watched a lot of todays play. Quite good show by Cook.
  15. Ali should bat ahead of 3 of them. If we go for specialist spinners on tour it's Ali at risk of losing out of playing. I believe that Ali should be a batman first. Lyth has one more innings to save his England career, at least for the short term. As far as the 5th Test is concerned if we survive today pray for early rain tomorrow. All imo Imo
  16. I can't help it and I find Bowyer's speech pattern irritating to the extreme because aswell as the monotone etc etc etc I also do not think that he actually believes a word he's saying.
  17. jim mk2 called called Root a Someone else called Root a net bowler not me. I was explaining why Root was the other spin bowler with Ali. I totally agree with focusing on beating the Aussies in the 5th Test so would go unchanged apart from Andersen for Wood if Jimmy is fully fit. Lyth is struggling but I think with stay at 2 for now. Anything else can wait for the Tests v Pakistan. IMO
  18. Yes indeed - so who is the other spin bowler that OOJW is on about? Root has had a bowl this Test season and taken wickets. Also Ali is a batmen who can bowl a bit. We haven't played a specialist spinner yet.
  19. Very true and he's not the only one and it's not specific to English batsmen. The main reason why it's becoming difficult to visualise Test matches lasting a full five days or indeed ending in many draws. I appreciate that's the same thing really. The influence of ODI and even more so T20 on the modern day batsman's approach.
  20. KP came back, played County criket, scored loads, then told by Strauss he had no future with England but offered some non-job type position - unsuprisingly KP went. He remains the best cricketer currently available to play for England - but does not wear the correct tie. England should be wary of the Aussies in the 5th and ODIs. A lot of hurt pride there - let's be honest the Aussies lost the 3rd and 4th Tests as much as we won them and thrashed us in the 2nd. Has anyone ever seen Clarke or Warner so inept and Smith forgetting how to do the basics. Will there ever again be a draw over a 5 day Test?
