  1. Diego Jota. Show some respect remember.
  2. Ah ok. Hyam is good enough. He wouldn’t be easy to replace with our current transfer policy. His positioning isn’t always the best ( Burnley’s goal away last year springs to mind where there was only 1 guy in the box in acres when the cross come in). I felt like his real dodgy spell was under JDT when we were less defensive-minded so he had more space to ‘defend’. Under JE we were a lot tighter so it suited him (and I suspect Batth) more.
  3. I've skimmed the last few pages so not sure if you two are just being pedantic, but Bath was the best centre back we had last season by some distance.
  4. Gestede was a change in personnel, and since his predecessor was sidelined became responsible for contracts. The refusal to engage with Travis, Tronstadt and Brittain when there was only 18 months left on their contracts was his responsibility. As regards to the strategy for keeping players until they are worth nothing, that remains to be seen. However it's irrelevant as RG has confirmed the budget for transfers is set and doesnt change regardless of the amount of money we bring in. There is no evidence the money will be reinvested in the squad budget. Therefore, as a fan, if we are not going to re-invest I would rather have one more season out of Travis, Tronstadt and Brittain. The Indian Goverment is clamping down on people who falsely declare what the money they are sending out was for. If they had spent the money they said was for Rovers on Rovers they wouldnt have had a problem. I am happy to give the new signings a chance. Brittain was in the squad or available for 34 out of 46 league games last season. 45 out of 46 the season before. 33 out of 46 before that. Thats 81% of games over the past 3 seasons. I have no idea where this "sicknote" tag is coming from.
  5. It won’t be. Eustace wanted to renew contracts and the club wouldn’t (or couldn’t). I don’t believe Ismael suddenly has significant clout. Rudy has been in situ for 12 months so it’s already his fault anyway, although I suspect his hands are tied.
  6. That’s what all our new employees say. If they want to know the common denominator, Ask Suhail.
  7. Cos he won’t be here. Val basically says himself financially the club may need to do it. We know they do.
  8. I got told towards the end of the season by someone close to the club that the senior players weren’t happy with staff departures (not just Eustace). I think they don’t like working for their current management and employers and know they can get a bigger salary elsewhere. They know there’s no ambition for promotion, and ultimately they all want to play in the PL. Therefore a club with ambition, such as Boro, will appeal more than Rovers.
  9. They haven’t offered Travis a contract. They’ve only just offered Brittain one in the last couple of weeks when they could have renewed it at the start of the year. Tronstadt, who knows? So I want to keep them. Any money brought in doesn’t affect what we can spend and doesn’t get reinvested, so what good is 3 or 4 million if we just end up playing with kids or relegated Euro-fodder.
  10. Eustace wanted the contracts sorted back in December. The players by all accounts wanted to discuss contracts. The club had no plan beyond this summer and therefore wouldn’t sanction what we all knew was the right thing to do. Ismael is now talking about learning from mistakes of the past (with regards to contract situation). Don’t bother pal. It happens regardless of who’s in the chair. The incumbents just blame their predecessors. The only constant is Suhail.
  11. I said I expect 2 of Travis, Tronstadt and Brittain to be gone by September. This is number one incoming. The minute we signed a right back for a fee the writing was on the wall. I doubt a realistic contract for one of the better Champ players in his position has been offered.
  12. He should play some games yes, but Jansen wasn’t playing for Carlisle in the bottom tier of the football league until he was turning 18. Ollie Watkins hardly made a senior appearance in league two until he was almost 20. There’s tons of quality players who just aren’t quite ready at 17.
  13. If he’s genuinely good then the pathway is open.
  14. There’s a spammy streaming company advertising it as on along with every other European friendly being played. It won’t be on.
  15. Or that story has been put out because they knew they were going to sell and wanted to make it look like they tried. Brittain and his team must have known there would be interest so why would you go from “about to sign” to “wanting to move to Boro”. Whatever the truth or narrative, you are correct as in he shouldn’t refuse to play IF the club are demanding him to. If , like Szmodics, he says I don’t want to and they say “fair enough” then that’s different. If it was a league game I’d be spitting though.
  16. That just says talks started. Ismael said talks were starting and would intensify after the season ended in 10 days. Which reminds me that Easter was late and only a couple of weeks before the season ended. As far as we know from reports, Rovers didn’t offer a contract until May when the retained list was released. It should have been sorted back in January once we saw how good a players he was. The closer to June it gets, the more he would, start considering other option.
  17. Source? Jackson, Batth himself and Ismael all said otherwise at the end of April.
  18. Just paid attention to it. It does look like the club tbh. It’s like they’ve found and muzzled @insiderRovers, but thought “hmm, we could do that to our advantage”
  19. Did he? I don’t recall him saying that, but it’s a long while since I’ve seen the podcasts he did after he left.
  20. Dont get me wrong, I agree with you that the player is being paid and should never refuse to play. Szmodics was wrong to do it, but I think we only allowed it (almost with our blessing) as we were willing sellers. It was never going to harm us and I suspect the club didn't want Sammy injured as they were planning for his sale and exit in the coming months. Here we are led to believe they are planning for Brittain to be a key part of the team for the next 4 years, so they should be more stern. (if true of course, a random shitty tweet can sometimes just become gospel)
  21. We actively wanted to sell Szmodics. We were just trying to get the fee to what we thought was acceptable, but the player and the club knew that ultimately he would be leaving. Difference with Brittain is we are told we are actively trying to keep him.
  22. If your are not an intended seller then you play him as part of your pre-season routine. If it was a league game or a big cup tie I'd worry about his 'head', but not a 45 minute kick around in the sun at Stanley.
  23. If Eustace thinks Pasha is a lying nobhead who is hindering progress, nothing Waggot says comes to fruition as he’s no power and he’s getting frustrated and stressed dealing with them on a daily basis then yes Derby would be a better job. It’s not just how good your training pitch is. That’s why JDT wanted to walk for free.
  24. I don’t disagree with much of what you say, but most people in most walks of life will take the opportunities of a better job, whether that’s for money, working conditions or future prospects. Randomly calling someone who did a good job for us a “fat prick” does you no favours.
  25. I’m not upset. You are , showed by calling Eustace a fat prick. We didn’t offer Baath and Weimann a contract until the season had ended. We don’t have to sell Brittain. Eustace isn’t ravaging us, because if he doesn’t sign them someone else will as they are free or we are willing sellers. Now I thought maybe you’re annoyed at the current situation, and aren’t one of those childish snake carriers from earlier in the season. But no, you were. . Hisssss
