  1. Edited cos vinjay doesnt like my drunken humour (or lack of in this case!) (Sorry, I've been drinking near t'Turf ?)
  2. Bonus points for anyone who can turn "Back in Black" into a Bradley Dack song.
  3. Both. A good manager can blend a team of adequate players into a successful side. There is now a massive worry if Mowbray can do that, especially after witnessing that @#/? today. He seems to think we can keep it tight and almost overpower the opposition to get results. Like we don't need to work at it. However the squad is simply not as good as people thInk. On what they have showed in Rovers colours, the players simply lack the talent people think they have. As defenders, Ward, Caddis and Williams aren't great. As cultured as Mulgrew is on the ball, he's not the best out and out defender. Downing has done well fortunately, but we're solid rather than blessed in defence. Midfield,is a funny one as it has improved since relegation. Smallwood shows up how bad Lowe was and we have a lot of average options. However, none who started today have anything in their game to unlock a defence. That job falls to Dack and Chapman but they are currently benched. From what we have seen Dack is living off reputation though. I'm Yet to see his true value. Up front is another quandary. Grahams purple patch (10 weeks?) ended long ago and neither Antonsson or Samuel look like they will create lots, or that they will sniff out 20 goals. I think this is another area we seriously lack in. In short, watching how the games are panning out, Mowbray should be doing better as we are playing poor and being overrun in many games. However I still don't believe we have a squad that is in the best two in the league.
  4. Agree about King and Gestede. However some people blindly supported Gaz when he started dropping them for Brown up front !! That was the final straw for me with Bowyer.
  5. I get your point but it's a bit irrelevant in the current climate. If Ibrox was only going to be 50% full against Celtic regardless then they could reduce the capacity by 10,000 with no complaints.
  6. They're not quite a Ferrari. That Souness 5-0 team would still spank their current mob.
  7. At least the service is as reliably bad as ever. I left my seat in the Blackburn end at 3.35pm and got served at 3.58pm. Rushed my pint down in a few minutes to get up for the second half as there was no coverage downstairs but still missed the first goal.
  8. Ah ok. I'll let them off. It wouldn't have surprised me though
  9. Game not shown on concourse anymore. The 'matchday experience'.
  10. You've done the same to me several times, particularly on the transfers thread Chaddy. And several times I have agreed with you, especially with Nyambe over the summer.
  11. This is the radio Rovers thread Chaddy. Practice what you preach and keep on topic.
  12. I'll just phone my 70 year old dad who've been house-bound for 7 years following a stroke and tell him he won't be listening to the game today. His Rovers life is still the radio and the LT. I guess he's another long standing supporter who is now doing "away games only".
  13. Well it adds a bit of interest to August. Lets hope that Burnley will be met with fire, fury and quite frankly power, the likes of which the dingles have never seen.
  14. Next round is seeded so guaranteed "money spinner" against a prem or top championship club.
  15. What a non-starter of a story this is.
  16. Quick get talking about it on Twitter.
  17. Saw the half-original line up G'n'R last night at the London Stadium. Axls vocals held up a lot better than they sound on YouTube, Slash was awesome as ever and the setlist lends itself perfectly to large stadium gigs. Good night.
  18. I see the Rovers website home page only has comments from Mowbray. As he is only a head coach and not even a manager, that shouldn't be his remit. However again it is left to the person that picks the team to front up as the face of BRFC once more. Pity we've not got a director of football or something to communicate with the fans at a moment like this.
  19. If I was Mowbray I would walk. No question. Another season here with the squad we will have next year and he'll never get a job in football again. His record since he got here means he may well get a shot in league one somewhere else next season once the managerial merry-go-round starts again.
  20. So the players are good enough, the manager is good enough but we are going down because they are not fit enough. Yeah right.
  21. Unfortunately our loanees and out of contract players have been on the beach for weeks.
  22. Tony used to play on the docks. Stokesy's been on strike, he's down on his luck with love. With love. Conor dreams of running away. He plays on the right sometimes. Raya is Ok. Ok.
  23. Love the optimism but we'll plod to a point on Saturday and get beat at Brentford.
  24. Plus if Huddersfield get something out of their midweek game with Wolves, they will be safely in the play offs by the time they go to Big Club.
